I stayed there at the end of the year. First of all, there is only one large public bath. Therefore, when men enter, they hold up a sign saying that men are bathing, and the same goes for women. I came all the way to enjoy the hot springs, but I was disappointed that I couldn't go in whenever I wanted. Second, we couldn't drive a car in front of the front door, which was inconvenient for our family members who were on crutches. Furthermore, the inside of the inn seemed to have been repeatedly expanded and renovated, making it look like a maze, with no clear evacuation route, and I was extremely worried about what I would do in the event of an emergency.Other than that, I think it's very good for the price, just like other people's reviews.

After purchasing souvenirs, I checked into the hotel and found that there was no refrigerator in the room. What should I do with refrigerated products?The room can only be locked from the inside and cannot be locked from the outside. I stayed with a friend, but since the door cannot be locked from the outside, we cannot leave our luggage in the room and go out at the same time.The bathing time is set until 11:00 pm, and when I went to take a bath at 10:30 pm, the hot water had already stopped and I couldn't even take a bath. Shampoo and body soap come out as liquids that are diluted with water.I didn't have high expectations, but I was wondering how the service would be for someone who is paying the accommodation fee.

I stayed there a few years ago on a girls' night out.I thought it was nice to be able to feel the nostalgic Showa era atmosphere.The stairs were impressive.I hope this inn continues to exist forever.

It had the impression of being a Showa-era inn, and although it wasn't modern, it had a nostalgic feel and made me feel relaxed. Highly recommended for those who like old buildings and those who like Showa retro!The food is simple and delicious!

Even though it was the busy season, we were able to stay there at a low price. Nagato Yumoto Onsenkyo, Toshige Ryokan, a long-established inn that has been running for four generations, and a very astringent facility. The house is quite old, and from the outside it looks like it has been expanded several times and the stone walls have been piled up to create a good finish from the original ground. In recent years, Nagato Yumoto Onsen has undergone urban planning and redevelopment, with the construction of modern facilities and parking lots. Among them, it is a very long-established inn. Soak in the circular indoor hot spring bath, a simple alkaline hot spring (commonly known as Altan) with a pH of 9.66, heated by the 38°C hot spring water. The meals are sumptuous and served to the utmost. This price is great during the busy season. The puffer fish sashimi and ozoni, which are unique to Yamaguchi Prefecture, were very delicious. I also took a relaxing dip in the hot springs. The fact that the building is old is rather valuable and I enjoyed it as it was in the Showa era.

I stayed there because it was a pet-friendly inn.The reviews were mixed, so I was prepared to some extent, but the reviews were really bad.What was good about it was that it allowed pets, the personality, and the scenery.The room had a hole in the ceiling where insects could come out, and the only security was a lock that could be accessed from inside.No safe.The windows don't open, so there's no ventilation, and there's a slight musty smell.Even though the bathrooms are not separated by gender, they don't lock and there is only a sign saying someone is in there.The bathing time was until 11pm, but my father, who came in around 10pm, said there was only water in the shower.Is it because of the natural spring water?There is no hot water in the wash basin either.We had meals in the morning and at night, and when we were asked what time to eat, we chose a time that seemed convenient for the inn, but the rice was not freshly cooked either at night or in the morning, and the grilled fish (shishamo) was served cold. The end of the situation.Shishamo becomes hard when it cools...At least I want to eat warm rice and fish.The meal contents are as shown in the image on the travel website.Thank you for staying with us for one night, so I apologize for this review...This experience taught me that you need to think carefully before deciding on a country inn.

My personal impression is that they don't seem to want to satisfy their customers. I don't really care if the building is old or if there are insects, but it doesn't make sense that the bathroom is dirty even though it's a hot spring inn. . It is better to bring your own shampoo.It's basically a traditional inn. It's like, ``The building is old and the prices are low, so I guess it's okay to just go for it!'' It's just my imagination though. .I thought it was a waste because it was so retro and tasteful.

Very satisfied with the food both in the morning and in the evening.The people at the hostel are friendly and kind.It took some time to adjust the water temperature in the shower, but the quality of the hot spring water in the bathhouse was very good.Close to the bamboo forest stairs, convenient for walking around the areaThe room is old, but the futon is cleanThis ryokan may not be suitable for those looking for a typical hotel, but is recommended for those who want to enjoy the Showa era.

The atmosphere of the Showa era. As this inn continues to exist in this hot spring area, the hot springs that have been passed down from generation to generation are said to be the strongest in the world, flowing directly from the source. It was smooth and soft with a faint sulfur scent.And for dinner, you can get fuku sashimi at this price! I was also impressed that I was able to have eel as well. Breakfast was also very satisfying!The room is spacious, with two Japanese-style rooms, and has a sink. The toilet is shared, but it is clean. Toothbrush provided, no hair dryer, only towels, no bath towels. I'm deducting stars for that. Onyu is right in front of us, but we are satisfied with the hot water at our hotel! Thank you to all the staff for their warm hospitality!

All I could think after staying this time was ``the best''.As other people have said, the floor was creaky and there were bugs, but I live in the countryside so it wasn't a big deal.It is not recommended for people who want to stay in a beautiful hotel or inn, or for people with weak legs because the stairs are quite difficult.・I like old-fashioned buildings・I like the Showa era atmosphere.・Since it is an old-fashioned inn, you can understand that small insects may come in.・I don't care if the floor is squeakyI would like to recommend that such people stay overnight.Immediately after getting off the stairs from the Yumoto Onsen parking lot, the view is good.Onyu (drop-in hot spring) is a short walk away, the location is good, the dinner and breakfast are delicious, the large public bath inside the inn has a Showa atmosphere, the hot water is good, and I was longing for a Showa hot spring town, so this was the best inn.The downside is that there is no soundproofing, so voices can be heard all the way to the hallway at night.I stayed here with four male friends this time and it was a lot of fun.I would definitely stay here again next time.

I stayed on a half board plan. The food is plentiful and very satisfying. I parked at the Yumoto Onsen parking lot, but I would like to receive a discount ticket for free parking. When I told her about going out to see fireflies, she gave me another one. The inn is old, but it feels like it's a family-run business, and the landlady told us a lot about the history of Yumoto Onsen during the meal. Lastly, the hot springs are the best. Since it is a simple alkaline spring, it will leave you slippery. I was in there for quite a long time.

I went there with half excitement and half fear because I had read so much about it in the reviews.It's true that the overall atmosphere, rooms, hallways, etc. feel old, and people who like cleanliness may feel a little uncomfortable. The toilet and bath are shared. The toilet had been renovated and was clean. You enter the bath by putting on a tag that says ``Bathing in progress.'' The bathroom is also old, but I think it has a nice atmosphere. The temperature was hot and felt good. Please note that there is only one shower and the temperature is not stable. Based on the above, it seems that you will be less satisfied if you stay without meals.However, I think the biggest appeal of this inn is the food, so I recommend Meals on Wheels to anyone considering this inn. For a little over 10,000 yen per night, you won't find anywhere else with this amount and quality of food. Everything was delicious and filling.I think this is an inn that people choose.

It has the feel of a haunted house, so if you're with friends who enjoy that kind of thing, I'd recommend it...Maybe because it's old, the rooms, hallways, and bathrooms all have a unique atmosphere.Well, unless you're really into things, I think you'll be able to enjoy your trip more honestly if you go to a different ryokan.If you are really into things, I think it would be a good idea to stay overnight. It will be a very valuable experience.

I have not stayed but from looking at the building, seeing the view it commands over the main part of the spa town, and reading the views, I think I would like to stay there next time I go to Yumoto Onsen. Only one problem, for some, is that the old, charming, Showa period building that looks like it has materialised out of a Ghibli set, is not likely to be earthquake proof but, since it has remained standing for this long, one would be unlikely to be staying on earthquake day. It is run by an elderly couple from the same period. I am not sure it has a separate restaurant room but I would ask if I stay and eat in a room facing out front (please see photo). The food is good apparently and the owners kind. The cleanliness does not please some Japanese but I think for me it would be fine. The bathrooms have been renewed. The spa bath can be booked to oneself (though one customer was asked if another customer could come in).

I didn't stay there, but I fell in love with the exterior.As a result of repeated extensions, the building is based on an old inn building, and now has a lovely mix of private house and mountain hut styles.

Well, it's not worth staying. Now 5000 yen is too expensive. I don't even want to give 1 star.Some rooms had refrigerators, some didn't, and some didn't.The room and air conditioner smell musty and the futon is full of dust mites and is too dirty. The cleanliness is worse than a manga cafe.You can experience staying in a room full of small insects and experiencing the discomfort and itching in your throat.

It's an old inn with a quaint atmosphere that made me feel like I had traveled back in time to the Showa era.On the other hand, the toilet had been renovated and was very nice.The food was very delicious and everyone was very satisfied.However, since there is only one bath, it is a unisex bath system.The quality of the spring water is good, but some people may find this a problem.

For hobbyists who pay to stay in a room that is dirtier than their own home.It doesn't seem to be earthquake resistant.There is no concept of security.The meal was brought from a caterer by a guy in a blond jersey.The guests in the lobby gathered for breakfast. He was silently stirring his food. All opinions are my own.
