Even for a non-Japanese speaker it was a welcoming and accommodating hostel. I greatly enjoyed my stay and I was able to explore Tōno and the surrounding area. Dinner and breakfast available for a good rate.

What an absolutely delightful place. I visited here in the summer as a detour from walking the michinoku coastal trail to visit the local Orthodox Church. In my view it is places like this that you see the best of Japan: unassuming, small, old-fashioned, not fancy at all, but lovingly and conscientiously maintained with careful attention to detail and offered at a very reasonable price. The setting is also lovely, with mountain views on all sides. I would highly recommend

Youth hostel relatively close to KappabuchiIt felt like a pension, and it was a youth hostel, but it was a stable, clean, well-appointed, and relaxing accommodation. There were days when I couldn't go into the open air because of the rain, but the smell of cypress made me think that the hostel is trying their best to provide hospitality. There is a room with lots of comics, a common room, and a refrigerator. From the dining room, you can see the rice fields and mountains, and I think the layout is designed to create a good atmosphere, with separate washbasins and bathrooms for men and women. It's not a new building, but it's well-equipped, looks like an old pension, and has everything that hostellers will appreciate. The parking lot has a roof for motorcycles in front of the entrance, and can accommodate 5 cars (3 horizontally, 2 vertically) at the back.

There seemed to be a lot of customers on bike tours. There is also a library where you can enjoy some classic manga. You can also write your name on the shared refrigerator and store your belongings. There seemed to be bicycles for rent as well. The bath is large enough for 2-3 people, and there is also an open-air bath. The breakfast bread was baked on the spot and the soup was delicious. In addition to credit cards, we also accept payments with Paypay. The surrounding area is very dark at night, so if you are traveling by vehicle other than a car or motorcycle, it is best to arrive during daylight hours.

The greatest place I stayed during my 3 week trip through the north of japan. The hostel is ran by the sweetest couple you could ever imagine with the owner having a good grasp on english and very chatable, loving to talk about their lovley town as well as loving to here about you. Rooms are clean and very condusive to good sleep. Dinner and Breakfast are tasty and allow a taste of what iwate home cooking is like. A great bath with the most adorable kappa in the bath this is a must stay if you plan to go to Tohoku.

Nicest family owned hostel. It actually feels more like a B&B since you can book the highly recommended dinner and breakfast, perfect for getting a taste of typical everyday Japanese meals! …

When I was younger... I took care of him several times when I toured the Tohoku region by bike.I happened to be traveling here and felt nostalgic so I made a reservation online. The two of us stayed in a Japanese-style room, and there was a toilet and washroom, so it was just like a hotel. Personally, I'm happy that smoking is allowed. I don't want it to disappear. This kind of use...It seems that Dochuan in Sendai has gone out of business. It was a famous youth club that was said to be Matsuyama in the west and Dochuan in the east...If you pass by here, I'll be happy to help you again. Hope your parents are well.

Even though it's a youth hostel, it's almost as convenient as a hotel, with a built-in refrigerator, towels, toothbrushes, shampoo, and more. There was also a coin laundry. The bathroom was very nice with an open-air bath, and the room was country-style and very nice. There were also a few people with training camp licenses. However, when I called to make a reservation, I had a hard time making a reservation because the voice of the hostess was so low and I could barely hear them because they spoke so fast, so unless you can use a coupon, I recommend making a reservation online.
