If I were to stay in Tono, I wanted to feel the charm of the past, so I chose this inn.I visited by myself as a man, but both of the staff members were very kind, and I was able to enjoy conversations with other people, such as behind-the-scenes stories about nearby shops, which I wouldn't be able to have at a hotel.I didn't visit the second floor, but I was able to enjoy the retro Showa era interior on the first floor. The room I stayed in was old, but I could hear the sounds of the Tono Festival through the shoji screens, and I felt a nostalgic feeling while enjoying the Tono Doburoku. One thing that bothered me was that the rooms were not cleaned properly.I felt that old = dirty, so I gave it 4 stars.I would like to stay here again if I come to Tono!

[I'm really glad we met by chance! ! ]I found this inn on Google while traveling in Iwate by myself.I saw a review saying that it stings people, so I was curious and made a reservation...There was a very sincere owner, Takashi-san...The service is so good that you'll wonder how good it is for travelers!I think it may have been because it was the off-season, but it was a very pleasant and surprising experience. (It feels like it's a lot of excitement, but I felt that way about the details.)The retro Showa era atmosphere was very nice, and the next morning I was given a tour of the entire inn.The tiled water fountain, the dark room, the shiny lacquered floor, and the other clocks are amazing! ! nice~! ! I felt that from the bottom of my heart. Not suitable for people who like new places,Highly recommended for those who want to have a relaxing time and those who like a retro atmosphere.(People who enjoy old times☆)I want young people to stay here!Thank you very much for a truly memorable experience! !By the way, it was my first time staying at a hotel by myself, so I was worried about a lot of things. We also have towels, yukata, shampoo conditioner, body soap, and face wash! ! (I was really impressed because the local public baths are often empty, haha)

It seems that he is managing the place by himself, so it is difficult to get through to him on the phone. I can't even get an email back. If you want to stay overnight, please call patiently at least 4-5 times.I told them in advance that I was going by car, and when I tried to ask them about the parking lot at check-in time, they replied, ``Are you there yet?'' and ``Did you come by car?'' Apparently it was being bought out... What can I say, frankly, we don't have enough manpower? The atmosphere of the room will touch some people. I recommend it if you like grandma's house or if you like serious Showa retro style. If you like the retro Showa era, which has a clean, theme park-like atmosphere, I think it's better not to come.

I spend wonderful two nights here and the owner is such kindly that we talked a lot even though my Japanese is not very well. By the way, the breakfast is also delicious, if I have chance to be Tōno again I will still choose here.

An old-fashioned inn. You can enjoy the emotional atmosphere. The bath, toilet (washlet), and washroom are shared. The bath is especially noteworthy, and although it is a small artificial hot spring, it uses free-flowing water. The shower is of the type that can be left open.Meals are set type. The staff are all very nice people.Although there are some areas where cleaning is not done properly (such as dust accumulating on the sunscreen), the overall area is clean, including the water areas.

Not only is the building old, but it is also poorly kept. Spiders and insects live in the tatami room

A wonderful inn full of travel spirit!I stayed for 2 nights with my pet.The building was built in 1952 and is full of history and charm. It also appears in historical materials in the Tono City Museum. The lacquered hallway is luxurious. The inside of the hotel is well kept and very clean.A cat sat at the reception desk and greeted dogs with a meow.It is run by a kind husband, landlady, and a wonderful mother.Room 2 is on the 2nd floor of the annex.Spacious with front room, main room, and verandah!A relaxing atmosphere facing the courtyard. The futon was also clean and fluffy. In the morning, I had a relaxing slumber while listening to the voices of wild birds and the chickens raised in the neighborhood. We stayed overnight without meals, but there are many restaurants within walking distance. There is also the ``Kataribe'' that appeared in Rui Yoshida's bar wanderings. You can also shop at the supermarket next to City Hall. There is a refrigerator in the room and a microwave available on site.In the morning, when I returned from walking my dog, a cup of carefully brewed coffee was delivered to my room.Although the bath is not a hot spring, it is clean and comfortable. The toilet is outside the room, but it has a washlet. For a reasonable price, my husband and I were able to escape from our daily lives and enjoy the history of Tono.

I used it for touring in the summer of 2014 ^^I had been to Tono about 10 years ago, so it was a very nostalgic place. Although this inn is quite old, I think the prices were reasonable and the food was quite good. At that time, would you choose Sukiyaki or Genghis Khan? I think it was a course. It's in the middle of the city, so I think it's a convenient place to go if you need anything, and it could also be a good base for exploring Tono. The friend I went with also seemed satisfied ^^ I would definitely like to visit again.
