A hidden gem! We had a fantastic time at the Ryokan. Its traditional style, the kindness of the hosts, the location, everything was perfect. We highly recommend the calligraphy lesson. Would have definitely stayed longer if we could!

Great family run (mother + daughter team) in a very convenient location. 10 minute walk from the train station (stroll down a covered market street "Mochiidono Shopping St."). Lots of options for food and amusement nearby. They did our laundry for us and the breakfast was delicious Japanese style! The single room is very nice, newly renovated with a garden view and all the amenities you could want in a traditional Ryokan type stay. Great dinner recommendation. The mother is a calligrapher and we got to peek into her studio on the way in/out. I only wish we could have spent more time in Nara.

Very nicely located ryokan, close to the park and shopping streets, but still very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are modernly furnished but have an authentic flair. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to book breakfast, very tasty!

The previous location has now been changed to "Nara Ryokan", and the current location has been slightly relocated to the entrance from the west side road, and has been renovated and opened (2022) as an inn that is limited to two groups per day.Stayed at the recommendation of a local. The clean 8 tatami room doesn't have a great view, but it's reasonably priced and kind.About half of the guests staying here were foreigners.I want to go again.
