We, a family Europe, stayed here 1 night and left with mixed feelings. The hotel and service were impeccable. Staff was friendly and spoke English. The place is beautiful clean spacious. The public bath was great....5 stars! However we had booked the room with dinner and found the dinner quite disappointing. We can't judge for sure if they made little effort that day, given that we were the only guests that night, we were just unlucky or if the food was just "too Japanese" for us. But much of it was just very pale in taste and comparing it to the photos here and our experiences through the whole rest of the trip I would have expected better. Two dishes of 9 were great (the beef and the sashimi) the rest not so much. The same goes for the breakfast.

We used it as a family of 3 during Golden Week.It was my first visit to Nara since my middle school school trip.I arrived in Nara early from Tokyo via the Shinkansen and train, and was having trouble disposing of my travel bags.Even though it was early at 10am, I was able to store my luggage. Thanks to you, I was able to visit Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Todaiji Temple to my heart's content and thoroughly enjoy sightseeing in Nara. When we arrived at the inn, we were first greeted in the waiting room where we received matcha tea and sweets.I was a little nervous as I received my tea in a polite manner. (lol)I live in Tokyo, and I love Kansai, especially the food.I was looking forward to seeing what kind of food would be served, and as expected, the food was amazing and did not disappoint. Everything was very delicious, using plenty of local ingredients, and the tableware was Akahadayaki, which matched the dish, so I was able to enjoy the food while stimulating my five senses.Everything from the butcher, scampi, pickled vegetables, and dishes made with spring ingredients was an impressive experience that did not disappoint. When we left, they continued to see us off until we were no longer visible, which made me feel embarrassed.I would like to stay with you again when I come to Nara.I think Shikitei, the deer at Nara Park, and the rickshaws will be memories that will last a lifetime for my daughter. It was a truly wonderful and happy moment.thank you very much.
