It's quiet and relaxing. The food is also on point. The bath is nothing special, but it will be smooth. Unfortunately, it is not available from 10pm to 5am. Also, the open-air bath in the rock bath should not have the smell and noise of the boiler operating. All the staff seemed nice, but perhaps by chance a lot of the customers seemed a bit dull. Only one person exchanged greetings. The lounge has a DeLonghi coffee maker and free tea drinks. The sweets were delicious, so I bought some with honey. I wanted hand paper in my room. There was a lot of disinfectant.

Even though the inn is a member of the Society for the Protection of Japanese Secret Hot Springs, there are no lanterns hanging there. The entire inn seems to have been renovated, and everything from the rooms to the front desk has a modern Japanese feel. Is this a trend that's been around for the past 10 years? There are two indoor baths, a cypress bath and a rock bath, both spacious and with high ceilings. The rock bath also has an open-air bath where you can enjoy the bamboo in the garden. The hot water is a sodium-calcium spring that is smooth and feels good on the skin. But I think it's a typical spring quality. The meals are cooked in a course style. The Yamagata beef loin steak was perfectly grilled and by far the most delicious Yamagata beef I've ever eaten. There was no rice, but plum somen instead, which is better in the summer. One rice ball was included for dinner. I'm so happy. I wonder if they're aiming for a hideaway-like inn.

There are a lot of hot springs in Yamagata that I personally love, so I go there often. |This time, I stayed for one night at Yudo-an in Tsuruoka City near the Sea of Japan. …
