Seven years ago, around 2017, a senior acquaintance in his 60s recommended this Itoen hotel chain, and I had been interested in it for some time, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to make a reservation.Below are my impressions after actually staying there. It's just what I personally felt.First of all, when I came to the front desk, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people there. Since I'm a shy person, I don't like crowds or large numbers of people. The person at the front desk was a man, and I felt sorry for the low-level customer service I received.I wish it was more casual! The customer service was amazing, and the explanations about the facility were so easy to understand that I didn't have to ask any questions! There were negative reviews regarding the smell, cleanliness, and hygiene of the room.It didn't bother me.In fact, I'm glad that I was able to feel like I was on a trip, with the smell of a retro Showa inn. There are many inns in Hakone that smell like this. However, I think people who are concerned about this smell will be concerned. Also, I was worried about G the most after reading the reviews, but I guess I was lucky and didn't come across it💦When I entered the room, I personally found that the room was so old that I couldn't imagine how clean it was at the front desk and how new it was, but I laughed at the fact that there were three beds even though I was staying alone lol. However, I could hear everyone talking in the hallway from my room, which was a bit annoying.I wish I had brought earplugs.I'm sure it's not suitable for relaxing alone. This is for people who want to have fun in a group. That's no wonder; there's plenty of entertainment in the building, including karaoke, Go and shogi, a mahjong room, and a table tennis room. This is quite suitable for group accommodation.By the way, at first I got the impression that there were a lot of seniors, but the customer base is diverse, including groups of young men, groups that look like girls' gatherings, couples, and families. And the most important thing is the bath.Considering the capacity, there was only room for six people to wash their bodies in the open-air bath on the top floor of the main building, and there was barely enough space for one or two people to fit in the bathtub.I gave up and went to the indoor bath on the second basement floor, which had a sauna room that didn't seem to be popular, but it was empty! I was glad that I could go anywhere as long as I could work up a sweat. The atmosphere was such that Ieyasu no Yu, the open-air bath in the annex, was probably crowded. After all, open-air baths are popular. The ornamental garden displayed next to the sauna in the indoor bath on the B2nd floor of the main building, which is a compromise and there are not many people, is very atmospheric and you will be fascinated by it.Well, the dinner buffet was recommended by a senior male acquaintance. Looking forward to this, I chose this hotel after looking at another hotel that had a private open-air bath with an ocean view.I chose sushi and sashimi at Honke Honmoto, which is called Itoen Hotel, because they said they had too many varieties to choose from, but New Fujiya had less variety and the quality... That's what it felt like😅The venue is quite large. I think there's seating for about 500 people. Quite spacious enough for a lively banquet. In addition to sushi and sashimi, there are many different kinds of food, and there are many types of sake. There are highballs, wine, sparkling wine, sake, beer, and a variety of entertainment levels.but! ! ! !I say it clearly. The quality of the food is childish level. Honestly, I regret it a lot.I think the only people who would be happy with this would be college students who have never eaten expensive and delicious food. After finishing the main event, which was the dinner buffet, I regretted not choosing another hotel. In other words, it was difficult to get food while trying to squeeze through the crowd and avoid bumping into each other. It takes effort. In this case, I should have chosen another inn where I could eat in my room, where the quality was better than the quantity, since I didn't have to get refills.Does it take a lot of energy just to eat dinner? And since there were so many people there, there were some ladies with low morals who skipped out. It's all over the place. Now that I'm an old man, I'm embarrassed that I chose this hotel based on this level of dinner. The only steak I had that was good was also labeled as processed meat...Cassis orange is not 100% juice, so it is sold at cheap izakaya bars for around 380 yen.It comes down to quality. The deliciousness of Casiole is determined by the freshness of the orange juice.Well, the only good thing about dinner was the hot coffee after the meal. As for dessert, I ate a delicious fruit dessert at a very fancy place yesterday, so the low quality is even more noticeable when I compare it.After I was disappointed with dinner, I started to get annoyed by the number of people there. There are many other things I want to write about, but that's it.For those who choose quantity over quality. When I thought about it, I guess I don't want to soak in a bathtub with a lot of people because I have a tendency towards cleanliness. When I think about it, I ended up staying at an inn that I don't know why I chose it.I think all of the harsh reviews that have already been written are on point.postscriptI had breakfast, and it was of great quality. I didn't feel like eating much, so I just finished eating. The only thing that was good was the hot coffee and unsweetened yogurt. After this stay, I will no longer stay at hotels that accommodate large groups of people.I don't mind having a small amount of food, so I would like to stay at a hotel with a higher quality.Check out was at 11am, but I didn't want to stay that long, so I usually left at 9am. Also, I was sick from the crowd and stayed in a room with no air conditioning for two days, so the outside air was delicious lol.
