My husband and I stayed here for one night during Golden Week.As you can see from the photos everyone has posted, it is a retro inn that makes you feel like you have traveled back in time to the 1960s. There are places where the floor is sagging and the stairs are not straight, which throws off the sense of balance of those who enter. This is a ryokan, but I can tell that they are doing everything they can to welcome their guests, such as installing air conditioners and air purifiers in each room, which gives me a good impression. The bath is small and there aren't many washing areas, but the hot water bath is so hot that it's almost impossible to take a long bath, so I don't think it's crowded and you can't take a bath.Breakfast was full with dishes unique to Yamagata, such as local wild vegetables and pork soup. It's a shame that you can't have dinner, but you can walk to an area with many restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk, so I don't think it will be a big problem. It might be a good idea to buy a bento box at a supermarket (?) called Wakuwaku Komareo, which is about a 5-minute walk away. Those who enjoy the antiquity of the facilities mentioned above will enjoy this inn.

14,000 yen for two people, including breakfast. The bath is fed by natural hot spring water, but it is only a small hot indoor bath. Please note that smoking is strictly prohibited within the premises.
