[Campsite located in a park with many large playground equipment]Nishizao Park has many pieces of play equipment that you won't find anywhere else, making it the perfect place to let your kids play. It's close to Zao Onsen, so you can enjoy the hot springs as well. This campground is away from the playground equipment, but you can use it for free.Since it's free, it can't be called beautiful, but you can camp among the lush trees. The site I chose was full of caterpillars and was difficult to clean up.Although the distance to the parking lot is short, it is best for families to be used to camping, as there is a difference in elevation and the transportation is done via an unpaved road.If anything, I'd recommend it to people who prefer a camping style where their luggage is easy. It's free, but you'll need to make a reservation by phone in advance, and since it's a bear-infested area, we recommend checking to see if the park is closed before you leave.

I used it during my trip around Japan in 2022🏍️⛺Campgrounds require reservations by phone.I found out about this on the spot and made a reservation on the same day. Since it was a weekday, I was able to make a reservation easily ✌️The phone calls were also kind and courteous. The location is close to the water hole that I wanted, but since no one will be using it today, you can change it later (as long as you inform them of the change over the phone). There is a distance and a slope from the parking lot to the campsite, so it might be difficult for campers with large luggage 😅Access to the campsite is not good, but the facilities are at least complete ✨The au signal was weak, so I couldn't connect unless I moved to the pond.In the middle of the night, I heard a sound running at high speed next to the tent (maybe it was a monkey?)Just in case, wolf urine traps are set up in various places to avoid animals. This campsite may be a problem for some people, but I like it because it's very quiet and full of nature.

Free campsite.Application required. You can contact Montedio Yamagata by phone. You can camp even on the same day if there are not many people using the facility. It's about 200 meters down from the parking lot, but it's quite a steep slope, so it takes a lot of physical strength.I used a cart, but the path from the exit to the parking lot was quite difficult. After checking in, I went to the place where I was given a number, but the people next to me were putting their luggage there, so I felt awkward so they changed me from number 11 to number 9.The receptionist is really kind!Larger tents cannot be pitched on the site.A 3m to 3.5m square strip.I’m glad I chose number 9! A pond was right in front of us.The ground is sand and dirt, and the pegs will stick to your feet.It gets quite cold at night, so take measures to protect yourself from the cold.wild animals areIt looks like there will be monkeys and bears,It doesn't seem to be coming out this year.Since I was completely solo, I sometimes used 100 yen gun-shaped firecrackers to light them and went to sleep.I was told that I could pick up and use firewood, so I didn't need any firewood! This time of year is endless and it's dry so it burns.

free. The toilet is clean. No tarp required at forest site. Kitchen is normal. It's a little far from the parking lot, but I think it's quiet and nice. You can make a reservation in advance, or you can check for available sites by phone or at the counter when you get there. However, depending on the person in charge, the telephone response was a bit harsh and unpleasant at times.

I went with the intention of camping, but due to the distance from the parking lot to the site, I gave up. I would have used it if I could park my car next to the site, even if it was only when loading and unloading luggage.I don't think it will be a problem if you are camping solo and don't have much luggage.

I used it for 2 nights and 3 days on a solo trip.Since it was October, I seemed to be the only user, so it was very comfortable.Reservations are required, but it was okay to make same-day reservations. You can make a reservation by phone. Of course you can use it for free.As a point of caution1. No open flames allowed. If you're going to use fire, you'll need a tool with legs, such as a stove or single burner.2. There is almost no lighting at night. There is only one light near site No. 20The toilets and kitchen are equipped with electricity.3. It's about a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot.In particular, sites No. 1 to 10 are far from the parking lot and close to the restrooms. Also, since it's near a swamp, there were large frogs everywhere at night, bats living in the toilet, and bees and moths flying around in the kitchen. Also, there were signs posted like a three-way warning: beware of wild boars, bears, and monkeys. If you don't like living things, you might want to be a little more careful. For safety reasons, we recommend families use this service.

Some people have posted about day camping on the lawn, but that is not a campsite. Please note that setting up tents outside of the campsite is prohibited in Nishi Zao Park.
