Thank you for taking care of me for 4 days during my first visit to Amami with my family! It takes a few minutes by car to Kominato where you can see whales. It's a distance you can walk if you try hard.Although it felt like going to a convenience store by car, we had enough equipment such as a washing machine, toiletries, cooking utensils, plates, etc. to spend time with family and friends away from the hustle and bustle. It's my first time staying at a guest house, so I can't really compare it to others, but to put it simply, it's like staying in that compact Totoro house. This time, we visited to give children, who find it difficult to return to the countryside once a year, an opportunity to spend time in nature and the local community. Thanks to Haru, we were able to spend a comfortable and relaxing time! The children had fun playing shogi and cards, just like visiting their grandma's house.I wasn't able to try it out this time because I was mainly playing outside, but if you ask the owner, he will also offer workshops on things like authentic bread making, Amami soul food, and papaya pickles. If it's raining, it might be fun too.Everyone who has stayed there has placed seashells and corals on the entrance wall, so we added one too!It was March when I visited, so it was cold in the mornings and evenings, but there were blankets in the closet, which came in handy (there was also an air conditioner!).

Thank you for taking care of me when I was on a field trip for club activities. They really cared about a lot of things, such as introducing me to shopping shops and coin laundries, and providing transportation (guidance) by car, which was very helpful. The location is a little far from the center of Amami City, but if you have a rental car, you'll be fine. It's a quaint house, filled with thoughtful items, and if I have the opportunity to go to Amami again, I would like to stay there.

A hideaway guest house. It's a place where you'll want to lie on the tatami for a long time, listening to the sound of the river and the chirping of birds, even during the day.
