My friend and I were visiting from San Francisco and had the pleasure of staying at Shallman for four nights. The host showed us amazing hospitality and we felt right at home.The guest room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. But what really set this experience apart was our host's personal touch. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful time on the island, offering us recommendations on places to visit and things to do.Each morning, our host prepared a delicious meal for us. It was the perfect way to start our day of exploring.If you're looking for an authentic and memorable experience on Amami Island then you should stay here. It felt like I was staying at my family's house and I wish I could stay longer. If I can come back to Japan I will stay here again . It will be a private lodging.It is available via booking.I stayed alone for two consecutive nights in a triple room (bunk bed + extra bed) that used to be a beauty salon.・Parking lot: Wide and easy to park・A few minutes walk from the bus stop・Convenient location for guided tours such as mangroves and Santaro Pass・If it is difficult to use the bus during a night tour, my father will take you there.・You can also take a walk in the inland sea in the morning and evening.・The toilet is separate from the main building (the smaller room is shared)・Separate entrance and exit from the main building, making it safe even during early mornings and nights・If you miss your meal, you can talk to your father.・Father's hospitality is amazingThank you for all the help you have given me!(March 2023)

I used it for 2 nights and 3 days.I will write a review as soon as possible!To be honest, I was a little nervous after making the reservation until I arrived at the guesthouse, but when I actually went there, the host's father had a really nice smile and it was a guesthouse that made me feel warm. It feels more like visiting your grandpa's house than a guesthouse. We had hearty meals prepared by my father both in the morning and in the evening. The local Amami cuisine was truly delicious, and I could really tell that they were overflowing with a desire to provide hospitality to their customers. He likes to talk and seems to be interested in many things, and he has a strong sense of curiosity, inquisitiveness, and desire to improve, and he told us many stories! It was really fun to have drinks with everyone that night. He also took me to sightseeing spots nearby and really took care of me in every way.The room is exactly as shown in the photos, and to be honest, you may or may not like it, but it is recommended for those who want to meet the warm people of Amami and enjoy the warm atmosphere of a family. Of course, the location was very convenient with good access to various tourist attractions.It was a guest house that made me want to go see my dad again.

Used for 5 days at work. There were many places near the airport, Tatsugo, and Naze, but after reading the reviews, it was a little far away, so I chose this one. We had a wonderful time in the great outdoors ♪ The owner was very considerate and responded immediately if there was anything that needed to be done. During our stay, a bug came out in another room and left. There was a person there, but it's natural since it's in the middle of nature lol If I called him even in the middle of the night, he would respond right away.Why didn't he call me? They were very responsive and worked quickly, including disinfecting the area the next day. By the way, when I stayed there, nothing came out! ! I received power from the owner every day and was healed by nature! We had dinner together and it was fun and the time went by very quickly! On the last day, I forgot something and when I called, they went to my room, found it right away, and asked me to send it to them by mail, and they kindly replied, but after that, they asked me about the time of my flight, and I... I refrained from doing it because I thought it would be a problem, but I calculated backwards and rushed out of the hotel while calling to make sure I would be on time lol.Also, even though the airport was 44 km away, I was driving. It was delivered! I was so touched that there are such nice people! Thank you very much! At first I thought it would be the only time I would ever visit Amami, but next time I will definitely come for sightseeing! ! Thank you to the owner! ! If you come to Amami, be a guest instructor! !
