I visited on a solo tour. First, he took me indoors to keep my bike dry from the night dew. I'm so sorry that I had to prepare everything from the large communal bath to dinner and breakfast because I had to reserve it for myself on this day. Although the building is not new, it seems to be well-maintained and well-maintained.Although it's not that big, the large public bath can also be reserved for private use. Even though it was cheap, we got steak for dinner, and since I was alone, he checked on me from time to time and talked to me, and we had a fun dinner together over a light drink. It seems like the restaurant is run mostly by one person, and the fact that dinner is lined up from the beginning is a sign of respect. At breakfast, they checked on me and brought me extra side dishes for the rest of the night, and they did their best.Although it was a bit far for solo touring on Shitamichi, it was a pension that I would like to visit again.

We stayed for one night in late July.On that day, I was the only one staying, so it was completely reserved! I also did some laundry, and thanks to my mom's kindness, she took care of putting the clothes from the washing machine into the dryer, and when she was done, she brought them to my place. The food was more voluminous than it looked, and I was able to eat to my full stomach. I asked for a second helping of rice, but I was disappointed that I had to decline because I was full...Also, they accommodated my request to leave early in the morning to visit Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, which was very helpful! Next time I come to Aso, I would like to come stay again!

Thank you for your help several times. This is my favorite inn.All the dishes are exquisite and the prices are exceptional. (I think it's okay to raise the price)Although the building is old, it is clean and comfortable. It comes with a mini public bath, so the whole family can take a bath together. It seems that the owner's grandmother is running the restaurant by herself, so there may be some inconveniences compared to major hotels (food is delivered all at once...), but I think that's part of the pension experience. This is the inn I always stay at when I come to Aso.I don't have any particular complaints, so I'm giving it 5 stars.

On November 26, 2022, I stayed here nearby (5 minutes by car) for the purpose of [Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine: Photo ⑦]. Please refer to the pension's website for an overview of the pension. Can be guided by navigation.I've been to Aso about 10 times, the last two times being at Kyukamura Minamiaso, and this time being at Pension Nekodake Sanso. Since I'm already old, I prefer the dinner course menu at the pension to the luxurious dinner buffet.I used the bath [Tsukimawari Onsenkan: Open-air bath with a view of Mt. Nekodake] until 7:00 pm. After dinner, the couple staying at the same hotel went to Hinoyama Onsen Dondokoyu in Minamiaso Village until 10pm, about 30 minutes each way. There are 5 Dondokoyu and open-air baths, and when I stayed previously, 2 of them were closed (cleaning?).I'd like to go to Kurokawa Onsen, but it's not a place I'd go to alone.[Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine]: There are no photos that I like yet. No cherry blossoms or autumn leaves, next time we will aim for snowy scenery. Although the shrine is uninhabited, LED lighting has been installed along the approach, making it possible to visit at night. For family trips, try Kyukamura Minamiaso or Arden Hotel Aso: Hinoyama Onsen Dondokoyu (free for guests), and the hotel also has good hot springs and open-air baths. ]is. For me, [Pension Nekodake Sanso] is good.Takamori Town [Pension Nekodake Sanso] ⇔ Kumamoto Castle: 80 minutes, ⇔ Takachiho: 60 minutes, ⇔ Takeda: 80 minutes (the navigation guides you the shortest distance, not the national highway. Prefectural road level), ⇔ Oita/Beppu: 2 hours 30 minutes , is the time distance I think.

I used it during the Obon period.Although it is a building that gives you a sense of history, it is a quiet and very relaxing place with a nice surrounding view. There were only two other groups of guests during our stay, so we had a relaxing time!It was run by a family and the owner was very friendly and I enjoyed talking with him!Anyway, all the food was delicious and the cost performance was amazing considering the accommodation fee! !The freshly harvested vegetables and meat were surprisingly delicious! !I definitely want to repeat it again!

*Note: Some people have posted photos of Dengaku cuisine in their reviews, but they are from a nearby restaurant. This pension served Western-style food, mainly steak, for dinner, and pure Japanese food for breakfast. There are hot springs, supermarkets, and convenience stores within 5 to 10 minutes by car. There are no vending machines at the hotel, so it's best to buy some before you go.We also had UNO, cards, and the Game of Life, so we had a fun night. There was a water leak under the sink in the room, but nothing else bothered me and the room was well soundproofed and comfortable.Of the 10 or so pensions that started around the same time, it seems that three of them have been taken over by their children, but the rest have either stopped operating or only serve meals in the morning. The dinner was so delicious that I wish it would continue. It's a wonderful pension run by an elderly couple doing everything they can, so even if you compare it to a beautiful major hotel...our family would like to use it again next year.

Well, that was good ^_^. Both dinner and breakfast are plentiful and fill you up. It's a good deal for that price. The landlady is also friendly and talkative. Toilets and baths are shared. There is no convenience store nearby.
