I only used the hot springs on a day trip. I was concerned about the hygiene of the hot springs. It was a rather old building. There is no place to leave your valuables, which could be a problem if it becomes popular. The afternoons on holidays were reserved for everyone, regardless of gender. The view from the hot springs was that the women's side could hardly see outside, while the men's side could see the sand dunes through the dirty windows. There was something like a ceremonial sand painting of a Himalayan monk in the lobby, but it didn't give off a very nice aura. The seat of the sofa in the lobby was so dirty that I couldn't sit on it.The view of the sand dunes from the observation booth and the entrance to Sand Dune Villa is quite nice.

Very nice minshuku right next to the Tottori Sand Dunes run by mother and son. The rooms have amazing views of the dunes. The meals (breakfast and dinner) are simple, but tasty. It also features a 24 hour public bath. The owner of the minshuku is very kind, attentive, and welcoming.I highly recommend staying for a memorable trip to the Tottori Sand Dunes.

Thank you for your help on our family trip. Thank you for being so accommodating with the schedule change. As others have written, it seems that reservations can only be made by phone. The facility is a little old and the dinner was okay, but the room was clean and comfortable, and the hot spring was nice. We recommend that women bring their own toiletries, shampoo, etc. The sand dunes and the ocean were right in front of our room, and before dawn in winter, the stars looked big and it was so beautiful! And then there is the giant sand painting of the Tibetan mandala at the back left of the entrance! !Please take your time and look at this. Perhaps because there were no other guests staying, the elegant madam manager gave us a very detailed explanation. A testament to the enthusiasm of our predecessors and the friendship between Japan and Tibet. Officially recognized by the 14th Dalai Lama, this huge sand mandala painting is the only one in Japan, or even in the world, and is a hidden power spot in the Tottori Sand Dunes! It seems that there is a particularly strong feeling coming from the middle of the sand painting! If you are interested, please give it a try.

Although it is a national lodging that is a little old, it has a large hot spring bath and you can see the sand dunes from the window, which makes you very satisfied.I was alone, but the room was a triple and was comfortable. And best of all, it's cheap.

I think some rooms near the sand dunes have a nice view. The view I saw was from the balcony (smoking area)... The bath is open 24 hours. The room was clean and comfortable to sleep in. thank you very much.

Stayed in this place for 2 nights during the golden week. We were a group of nine so we occupied 2 rooms. The location is great since it's just beside the dunes with a great view overlooking it. They have 24hrs hot springs which is great since you can just enter anytime specially after a whole day walking in the sand. This begs the question, when are they cleaning it? The building is old. Although they have few staffs, but they are accommodating and helpful. The breakfast and dinner is superb. Its a pity the wifi is only available in the lobby and not inside the room. But we enjoyed and had lots of fun during our stay.Hence the 4 stars in my review.
