Moss Ocean House

I held my elopement wedding at Moss Ocean House. They have a beautiful location embodying different nature elements that I love. Our accommodation is surrounded by the woods and when you walk to the deck, you’re met with the beautiful vast ocean. My husband and I stayed there for 5days 4 nights. We had so much fun there. They made everyday memorable. They’ll plan interesting activities for you, and you get to choose the activities they offer. You’ll reconnect with nature and shut out the city life.It’s a place that is quite different from what we had expected. It’s not a hotel so don’t expect that kind of luxury. It’s more like a little community. Because it’s within nature, expect to see bugs and spiders everywhere. It’s not because it’s unclean. It’s just being part of nature. The room is pretty spacious. I love it! But the bathroom is quite small. Luckily, they have a bigger shared bathroom in the main house. The shampoo and body shampoo are in there too.Takuzo, Aiko, Ima-chan and Waka-chan are such wonderful people and we enjoyed hanging out with them everyday. Ima-chan and Taku-kun spoke some English too and they taught me a lot of Japanese! I didn’t ask for a wedding arch but Taku-san made one for us anyway using driftwood he picked up from the beach. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the location! Everyone helped out with our wedding. Aiko helped with music. Waka-chan helped with the wedding streaming. And Ima-chan was nice enough to do the walk-in with me, holding the iPad with my dad on who’s attending the wedding virtually.You’ll also get wonderful, nutritious meals. We had to help out with the cooking with the exception of our wedding day. Initially, we thought this trip was going to be relaxing and chill with us lazing around for 5 days with occasional activities. But with all the activities they’ve planned for us, it wasn’t the case. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time. It was a different way of relaxation with many interesting and eye-opening things to do. Ima-chan brought us to a number of beautiful places that we enjoyed thoroughly. If you’re expecting to have a lazy time there, you are so wrong. But you’ll learn to enjoy the simplicity of life and you have to be willing to get down and dirty.Leaving Moss Ocean House was quite emotional for me. Tears did escape from my eyes when we left. I’ll miss those people. Do expect us to come back, MOH! Maybe we'll have kids by then! Haha!

This is a charming inn that fully introduces and allows you to experience the best parts of Yakushima.The view from the deck is spectacular. I want to drink coffee while watching the sunrise.The carefully selected meals are also appealing. You won't be disappointed with any of the dishes. Even though I'm full after refilling, I still want to eat it again.
