Amazing!! We stayed at Drifter Myoko in late Jan 2024. There was 1 adult and two kids (13,10). The snow was right at the back door with a run taking you directly to the chairlift for the mountain. Management and Staff were so helpful and catered to our needs. Lodge food was amazing. The small village is so special and truly enhances your Japanese cultural experience with minimal western influence, but just enough to keep the kids happy if they want a burger and chips. Cant wait to get back there

If you're looking for turn down service, lavish accommodations, and being waited on hand and foot then this is not your place. If you are looking for genuine folks sharing an absolutely unforgettable experience with a ton of knowledge they are willing to share in order to create a remarkable experience for your family and friends then look no further. These guys have a quaint ski lodge that delivers wonderful food, and super close to the ski resorts. The team assisted us in planning an unforgettable experience.

A dream stay at the drifter house! All the staff and Chris were very attentive to us. They pass on their passion for snow and cooking. We eat very well there and we ski very well! I recommend with my eyes closed

I recommend 100%. the team is so nice and accommodating. The food was very good. We ate there in the evening and in the morning. Our room was comfortable. It’s a great location for when skiing in Myoko kogen. Plus we had powder. Dream stay. Thanks again to Chris

What an amazing place! As a clumsy family with 4 kids that love the snow - this was, by far, the best holiday we have ever had.Chris and Amy are exceptional hosts in an extraordinary part of Japan. Local knowledge, genuine care for their guests and a lot of adventure and fun, not to mention the food at Drifter (thanks Chris) amazing!For those that want first tracks - Chris is your man. First time at Drifter. Definitely won't be our last! Epic spot. Amazing snow. Soooooo much pow! Chris & Amy and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make sure we all had an amazing time. We ended up staying an extra 10 days we loved it so much!

We loved Drifter Myoko. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to ski in/out and eat amazing food. We had all our dinners here.Chris and the staff are very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience skiing in Myoko.He is also very knowledgeable about the area, finding gear, terrain, guides, etc.Rooms are spacious, clean and cozy.We would definitely stay here again.

We just had an amazing experience at Drifter. We booked out the entire lodge for our family & were very spoilt by Chris & Amy’s hospitality. Breakfasts & dinners were amazing, the skiing fantastic (there is a great ski school for kids nearby which goes all day & all the kids loved), there are several good restaurants nearby & the lodge is cosy & has everything we needed. We can’t wait to go back!!!

A skiers / boarders lodge. Everything set up to hit the slopes. Great food, ski lodge vibe and ski in ski out! Heading back, absolutely loved it.

A gem i the ruff for sure. Ski-In, Ski-Out of Suginohara. Literally. 5 min drive from Ikenotaira (Alpen Blick Resort now) & 10 min from Akakura. Snug rooms, awesome floor heating and was very comfy for our 2 families. The breakfast was amazing & cooked by the owner who definitely knows his stuff. Fluffy blueberry pancakes with home-made yoghurt & syrup? Boom. Cant wait to go back! Thank you C!

Staying at Drifter Myoko felt like staying in one's home. Chris makes you feel welcomed and is incredibly accommodating. I stayed here for a few days with friends to celebrate the New Years. Chris and his family have made a lot of renovations into making this place what it is today. The rooms are spacious, and warm, and there are 2 shared bathrooms upstairs. The common space has lots of entertainment including games, tv, and even karaoke! In a few years time, this place will be very popular!As other reviewers have mentioned, the food is divine! Each morning, I looked forward to having breakfast from blueberry pancakes, to eggs, and porridge. There is also an excellent menu set for dinner. Everything on the dinner menu: chicken wings, hamburger, salmon and daikon vegetables, stir fried rice with mushrooms, pulled chicken tacos, and apple crumble with yogurt is delicious and you won't regret ordering any of it.Chris offers a variety of services including parking, lifts to the ski resort, and some snowboarding gears for a small fee. He also has a few snacks and drinks on site that you can purchase. If you're looking to stay somewhere in the area, look no further! I hope to be returning to this place very soon.

So glad we booked Drifter Myoko. The owner Chris is very kind and accommodating. Having him there definitely made our experience more memorable. Chris also prepares the meals, and they are delicious. I highly recommend you to dine at the hotel for dinner. The hotel is also newly renovated and well kept. There is also a ski resort close by! So you don’t have to drive to other ski resorts.

What drifter lacks in luxury, they more than make up for with warm and genuine hospitality. We were made to feel totally at home by Chris , Amy and their lovely boys.From drop offs at the ski lifts and supermarkets, excellent Australian breakfasts, free impromptu dinner invites that were not included in the package (as dining options outside were limited due to covid) , revealling secret powder runs and even baby sitting our 4 year old so that we could enjoy the fresh pow together, Chris and Amy have set the benchmark for going ' above and beyond' !For anyone (particularly Aussie expats in Japan who miss home) seeking a wholesome ski holiday experience, drifter earns our highest recommendation. We wish Chris and Amy all the best in navigating the challenges of COVID so that more people can enjoy the drifter experience once the pandemic is over.

Our stay at Drifter Myoko was amazing. Chris is an excellent host and went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. The accommodation is newly renovated and is ski in and ski out. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and varied. Suginohara is a great ski resort - huge vertical drop and it seemed to have some of the best snow around during the worst season on record. I suspect Drifter Myoko will become very popular in the 2020/2021 winter and beyond.

Best experience, food was so yummy and staff were super helpful!! Rooms and bathrooms are newly renovated and modern facilities with the same creature comforts you love in Japan. A fun place to stay. Great location!
