Dear Fellow Globetrotters:Our family of 5 (my wife and I, plus 3 young adults) were visiting Japan from Montreal and we spent a marvellous 3 days/nights here in late May 2023.The cottage has a lovely deck with a nice view of the ocean and was very comfortable, incredibly quiet, spacious, fully equipped and tastefully decorated. The location was great for all directions you may want to go to take advantage of Yakushima's amazing hiking, beaches and towns.Although we are not family ... we were received and treated as such by Choko and Graham. They were extremely warm and accommodating regarding our reservation, check-in, local information/conditions and getting a good car rental. We are hopeful to return one day to Yakushima and would definitely stay here again.Wishing all happy & safe travels!Rob Davis & Anne Archambault

Enjoy authentic Italian and bistro cuisine from Yakushima. We are open for takeout only. (As of January 2022) You can enjoy a full-fledged meal even with takeout, so I have used it several times. No matter what you order, it's really delicious and I highly recommend it. The Gorgonzola short pasta was delicious!

I stayed there for two weeks for workcation purposes. I was able to live a luxurious life in a new and clean cottage, drinking coffee while looking out at the sea. When we go on a workday, we usually prepare our own meals, but the best thing about Davis was that we were able to order the deli. The taste was very delicious as everyone said.

Came to Cottage Davis during our trip to Yakushima to buy food for a takeaway lunch to eat before our hike at Yakusugi Land. Taste was amazing, and portions were filling and just right.A short, easy drive away for anyone staying in Anbo (where we were based), and should be easy access for anyone staying around the southeast/south sides of the island. Should also be a great food option for anyone going to and from the various sites on the south side of the island like the outdoor, seaside hot springs. There are also cottages to rent out, which we hope to experience when we next visit Yakushima. Perfect place to be based, especially for anyone that want good access to the buses that take you to the start point of the Jomon Sugi hike.
