To coincide with the special opening of the Tsukuba Space Center, I decided to stay at this facility as it had a high rating on Rakuten Travel and the accommodation was cheap. For dinner and breakfast, we were served delicious food in a volume similar to that of a hot spring inn. In the rather large communal bathroom, I was able to stretch my legs and soak in the hot water. Above all, I was very happy with the warm hospitality of all the employees. The location is right next to Ishishita Station on the Kanto Railway Joso Line. By car, coming from the city center, get off at the Tokiwa Expressway Yawahara IC, head north on National Route 294, cross the Ken-O Expressway Jobo IC, continue for a while, then turn left. The directions are not difficult to follow, but I don't think I would have been able to get there without a navigation system. When driving on Route 294, please be aware that there are not many convenience stores on the left side of the road. The Tsukuba Space Center is approximately 30 to 40 minutes away by car. There are several parking spaces available underground and outside the building. Although the distance to the entrance is short, there is a somewhat steep climb, so please be careful where you step. The building is quaint, befitting a historical inn. The first floor, where you take off your shoes at the entrance with a shoe rack, has a reception, lounge, dining room, restrooms, and public bath. Inside the museum, there are several riveted chests of drawers lined up in the hallways, as well as old Japanese dolls, old folk implements, and other objects displayed in cases. If you have time, we recommend that you take your time to watch it.You can go up and down the stairs to the second floor. Japanese-style rooms do not have baths or toilets, so you will have to use shared facilities. The toilet is located near the stairs on the second floor. The Western-style room has a unit bath and toilet, and is the same size as those found in business hotels. This time I stayed in a Western-style room and a twin room. The mattress was a soft type, and since it was starting to get a little chilly, a comforter and thick blanket were provided. Other guest room amenities included a refrigerator, TV, multiple outlets, bath towels, face towels, yukatas, toothbrushes, and cups. I don't know if there are yukatas for children because I didn't ask. The door key is a push-button type with a built-in doorknob, so please be careful not to forget to take your key with you. In addition, the door is lightweight and has a vent at the bottom, so noise can pass through between the hallway and the room.Meals are served in the dining hall both in the morning and in the evening. When I stayed this time, for dinner, I had steamed beef and vegetables on a ceramic plate, hamburger steak with cheese sauce as the main dish, a few other small side dishes, and white rice and miso soup. For breakfast, we were served grilled fish and fried eggs as main dishes, along with a small side dish.In addition to white rice, we were served nabeyaki udon noodles in a small clay pot. All of the dishes were full of volume, with just the right amount of flavor, and I was satisfied with both quality and quantity. Although it is located right in front of the station, there are some restaurants nearby, but there are no convenience stores. Unless you are planning to check in very late, we recommend that you include breakfast and dinner. The bathhouse, which you can bathe at almost any time during your stay, is a medium-sized one with about 4 baths for washing. Still, I was very grateful for the bathtub where I could stretch my legs and soak up to my neck, and was able to relieve my fatigue. There is a coin-operated washing machine and dryer in the changing room.We received a very warm and kind response from all the employees. I was very happy with the way they guided me through the facility, introduced me to the furniture and old folk utensils, served me the food, introduced me to nearby tourist facilities, and were attentive to the children. It seems that he carries around the toothpick holder he received as a souvenir with great care.It was an unexpectedly good lodging experience. Although it is quite far from Tsukuba Space Center, I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.
