The building has a retro Showa feel to it, but it is well-maintained and has fresh flowers arranged throughout the hallways, making it a very impressive inn. There are many ideas such as a nuclear power plant damage museum and an exhibition room dedicated to Hibari Misora. The bath is old, but the hot water is soft. The open-air bath is very nice, but it is open for men from 5:00 to 9:00 in the morning, and for women from 15:00 to 24:00.I thought that I would like to take an open-air bath in the morning if possible, but I think there are various reasons. This time I stayed without meals due to work, so I don't know about the food.I think it's very good overall.

Previously, the toothbrush that was provided was out of stock, so I bought it at the Lawson store next door.If you are planning to stay overnight, don't forget to prepare your toothbrush in advance.I think it's cost cutting, but I personally don't want to bring my own toothbrush, so next time I come to Yumoto, I'll choose something else.

Stay overnight for 2 days and 1 night from September 20th to 21st, 2024.Room 1302 was a Japanese-style room with 8 tatami mats and 3 tatami mats, and a bath and toilet. The view from the window is decent. The rooms and building are old but clean. The building is divided into two parts: Genrokukan, which has a large front desk, and Taiheikan, which is located on the upper floor. This time I stayed at Taiheikan. The large public baths are located in Genrokukan, and there are two large baths and one open-air bath. "Daikoku no Yu" was divided into a lukewarm bath and a hot bath.I was able to relax in a hot spring for the first time in a while.By the way, they also offer day trip hot springs. There was a sign warning of theft. Be careful.I missed my lunch on the express train, so I ate it in my room, but Tsudaya inside the inn was open. I arrived late, but I wish I had known about this place. This is an inn that I would like to use again.

As it is a long-established store, the bathrooms are clean and the location is good. Good things are good. I think Furutakiya and Koito Ryokan are the signposts of Yumoto Onsenkyo, so I hope they continue to do so.

I saw some negative reviews pointing out the age of the building, but I think this is the largest authentic hot spring inn in Iwaki Yumoto Onsen, one of Japan's three oldest hot springs (the other two being Arima and Dogo). (Oldness is a status for inns with this attribute)I often go to Arima Onsen, and I don't think it's a loss compared to the large inns in Arima Onsen.Although it is old, it is kept well-maintained, and the exhibits inside the building are well-maintained.I only had breakfast, but it was very delicious.
