If you want to experience Japanese hospitality, this is the place to stay. Ms.Kameyama was so worry we couldn't make it to the place since it get dark early in Tsumago, and went to pick us up at the bus stop. The meal she prepared for us was the best we had for our entire 10 days trip in Japan, after the meal she prepared a tea bathtub and we loved that relaxing night . In the morning you can see how lovely the place is.

We hiked from Magome to Tsumago on a rainy autumn day. The proprietor must have been flustered to see two drenched and cold kids show up at her doorstep! She took such good care of us, placing our wet shoes and clothes in front of the heater to make sure they were dry the next morning. Dinner and breakfast were really good and nourishing. Take note that this accommodation is about 10-15 minutes’ walk from Tsumago-juku itself.

A cheerful old lady manages the whole thing by herself.Except for the toilet and bath, everything remains as it was when we lived in a large family. There is a hearth. I said, ``I think I should stop doing it because it's so tiring.'' We highly recommend staying for one night before it closes.

We booked our stay on the Nakasendo trail through the Tourist Center in Tsumago. We had the most wonderful peaceful night at Kameyama Minshuku. This home is quaint, clean, and comfortable. …

Such a rare and wonderful experience to stay in this ~100 year old home. The proprietor is so friendly and nice, and the meals she prepared were delicious! Most highly recommended place, especially if you wish to have an authentic experience and locally sourced feasts for dinner & breakfast!

This is a guesthouse with a hearth. The landlady is running the restaurant by herself. The bath is made of cypress and the toilet is a washlet. TV is only in the hearth room, not in the rooms. This is a relaxing country inn.

When I was traveling alone on Nakasendo from Nihonbashi and was having trouble making a reservation for an accommodation, I called Minshuku Kameyama and they kindly accommodated me. …
