I stayed in October 2024.The entrance and lobby are beautiful. You must move around the facility using the provided slippers.Depending on the price (plan), you can go through the underground passage (see image) to get to the older room. This time I booked a cheap plan, so the room I stayed in was one of the older ones. The room as a whole was clean and there were no insects. However, since the building is probably old, the moment I entered the room, I felt a musty smell or dampness.I don't know if it was just this room, but the sash in the room was warped and the gaps were covered with duct tape. I had a feeling it would be cold in the middle of winter due to the draft. The room has air conditioning. There was a TV, safe, and refrigerator. Bath towels and face towels provided. Guests are required to bring their own toothbrushes and combs in the lobby. I had a bath in my room, but it was clean. The public bath has an open-air bath, and men and women take shifts. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap available. There is a T-shape razor (probably Schick) and shaving foam. There were no lotions available. There is a locker for valuables in the changing room.It was a system where you could choose what you needed, such as a yukata and a toothbrush, in the lobby and take them to your room. Yukata for children are available in large, medium and small sizes. There are also slippers for children. The food is buffet and the taste is subjective, but it's not bad or bad. The curry was surprisingly delicious than I expected. There were no special local ingredients.All-you-can-drink alcohol is included in your room rate.Karaoke available. Rather than requiring reservations, the message posted was something along the lines of ``please make concessions to each other.''I parked on the other side of the road, following the staff's instructions. It appears that there was also one next to the hotel, but details are unknown. There's a Welcia store nearby, so if you really need something, you can buy it there...If you are someone who wants to stay overnight with meals included as cheaply as possible, there should be no problem.I don't think it's suitable for people who value hospitality, food, and facilities, so I recommend elsewhere.

October 2024Two people would like to stay for two nights and three days, and even though I wanted to make plans in advance, the room I wanted with an open-air bath was only available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for about a year in advance unless there were 4 or more people. You can only make reservations on Thursdays. If there is space available within 2-3 weeks from today, you can make reservations for other days even for 2 people, but it is difficult to book consecutive nights. Now that I'm working, it's almost impossible for me to take three days off on weekdays to travel for two consecutive nights, so I've been going there about three times a year for several years, but these days I feel welcomed. I didn't feel like I was there at all, so I ended up not going. Besides, you can't make reservations in the first place, so it's almost impossible. In terms of food and drinks, the food gradually deteriorates and tastes bad, the number of ready-made side dishes in retorts and bags increases, and even if they run out, they are not replenished, and if you are late for the meal, there are times when there are no seats available. It felt like survival. After all, sweet shrimp are available all year round. Coffee used to be made by a machine that ground it and dispensed it, but now I don't know if it's syrup or powder, but instant coffee comes out of a dispenser. Alcohol and wine are good enough to get you drunk. As for the guest rooms, if you think about them calmly, even in rooms with open-air baths, the heating doesn't work, there is mold growing, there are no screens, there are broken things here and there that are not noticeable, cockroaches, centipedes, large insects that I don't understand, etc. Some insects appeared. There are times when I can't say it's comfortable, and I've come to think that it's expensive after all.The hot springs didn't seem to have much of an effect either. You say it's continuous, but is it somehow circulating? Sometimes I think so.If you can stay in a regular room for less than 7,000 yen using a discount coupon, I can recommend it. It's all you can drink. Rather, if you don't have any expectations and can stay at a hot spring inn for a cheap price, then it's a good place to stay.Currently, I have found a good place to stay at an inn that is about the same price or a little cheaper, and where two people are not barred from staying on Saturdays and Sundays, and I have started going there, and I am sure I will never use it again. I think so.I remember thinking that it must have been an inn that had once failed, and since they didn't take care of their customers, I thought that even in this type of business, management would not be successful. As for safety, the baths and guest rooms at Suehirokan, which is across the road through a long tunnel that passes under the road in front of the hotel, are quite a walk away. I feel like it's scary. If the tunnel collapses, I still don't know where I can get out.It has been expanded and renovated in a patchwork manner, so there are steps here and there, so be careful when walking.

The best thing about this inn is that you can visit the nearby Itoen main building and annex hot springs! (No additional charge)The hot springs at Matsukawakan are also gender-separated, so you can enjoy four types of hot springs: two indoor baths and two open-air baths, but you can also enjoy hot springs from two other inns, which is a great deal. There is also a garden where you can feed the carp. (Paid)Even if you don't enjoy feeding the animals, you can open the sliding doors in your guest room and enjoy the garden, which is soothing to the eyes. The karaoke room, which requires reservations, seemed small, but the interior was clean. (No additional charge)We made a reservation at the same time as check-in at 3pm, so we were able to enjoy it at the time we wanted, but even if it was fully booked, there are karaoke sessions that don't require reservations. However, it may be difficult to join unless you are comfortable enjoying karaoke with other people!

I've been using Itoen Hotels a lot lately, and there are many traces of what was once a luxury inn. There are carp in the courtyard, and you can feed them for 100 yen in the morning. The room is large, and although it is obviously old, it is kept clean and spacious. The hot springs are warm and seem cold in winter, but it's perfect for me as I like to soak in warm water for a long time. It's a pity that there aren't many Karan.Dinner and breakfast were not much different from other Itoen hotels, but I wish the food had been replenished a little earlier.I didn't use it this time, but I think it's a good place to stay as you can visit the hot springs and there is a convenience store nearby.

It has an interesting structure, with Fukujuso and Suehiroso located across the road. This time I stayed at Suehiroso along the Matsukawa River. The two buildings are connected by an underground passage, so it was easy to move around. Meals were served on the Fukujuso side, and hot springs were located in the basements of both buildings and on the first floor of the Suehiroso side. The building is old and has some damage in some places, but the cleaning has been done to a certain extent. The food was buffet, and when it ran low, it was replenished properly. It's nice to have all-you-can-drink alcohol and soft drinks. The hot springs were fed directly from the source, and the changing rooms were clean.

There are three Itoen hotels on the same street. I stayed at this hotel because it seemed to have the best hot springs. As a result, I was able to enjoy a very nice hot spring. It was a satisfying stay as we were able to enjoy kamameshi and specially ordered dishes for dinner. It's an izakaya-style restaurant with unlimited alcohol, so those who drink a lot will be very satisfied. The inside of Matsukawakan was quite complex, and you had to go through underground passages to get to the hot springs, so the feeling of being in a closed space was interesting. I felt that the spring quality was good.Added images of fair food held in September 2024

Stayed in September 2024Itoen Hotels, which runs this hotel, is a company that buys hotels that are in trouble, changes the management system, and operates at low prices. There are three hotels in Ito, but each one is originally managed by a completely different organization, so even within the same Itoen Hotels, there are big differences in the buildings and facilities. It is divided into about three buildings in total, and to get to the public bath from the building where the front desk is located, you have to take an underground passage under the prefectural road. There are only a few showers in the public bath, so you may have to wait when it's crowded. The indoor bathtub is sufficient, but the open-air bath is small and not many people can use it.Also, like other hotels, there is aftershave lotion, hair tonic, and hair liquid in the sink in the changing room, but other hotels have multiple sets, but this hotel only had one set.The room is Japanese style. Since it's Itoen, futons are already laid out when you check in.I chose a room with a view, and it faced the courtyard, but the view was blocked by an untended tree, so there was honestly nothing to see.It was a room with an outside bath, but next to the sink there was a mark on the wall that made you think there was a bath. It's a strange creation. By the way, the toilet in the room has a toilet seat with warm water washing. Wi-Fi is also working fine.Meals are buffet. It seemed that not all guests could enter the venue, so tables were also placed in the hallway in front of the dining venue.Even so, there didn't seem to be a lot of seating available, and a customer who arrived a little late told the staff that there were no seats available. (This is because one or two customers end up sitting at a four-seater table). The menu is similar to other Itoen hotels. It is no different from hotels in the mountains such as Tochigi and Gunma. Although the hotel is near the sea, if you are expecting seafood, you will be disappointed. You can also order boiled kinmedai for an additional fee, but this kinmedai is also sold by mail order, and it appears to be a retort from Miyagi Prefecture.All-you-can-drink alcohol and soft drinks. Also, at other hotels, the dessert ice cream is a milk bar after the coronavirus, but here you can eat all you can with a soft serve ice cream machine. I was so happy that I ate a lot. This is Itoen after all, so don't expect the services of a luxury inn. It cost around 6,000 yen using the discount coupon, so I was satisfied with the cost performance.

Even though the facility was a bit old and not soundproofed, I was very embarrassed to see cockroaches the size of two fingers.I inquired at the counter and received insecticide, and it worked well, but it was a very unpleasant experience for someone like me who hates bugs. The staff didn't even come and take care of it.Other than that, the garden was pretty and the cave-like hot springs were really nice.Breakfast was pretty good and had a lot of variety. It was good value for money to the point where I would want to go again if the facilities were renovated and quarantined well, but it's a shame.
