We didn't expect to sleep at this hut due to another higher hut booking. But with the typhoon, the weather was very bad; heavy rain, strong wind, we are too exhausted to go ahead, and diceided to stop at this hut. Luckily that they do have space available for us. The staff is really nice and kind. Some of them can speak good English. Eventhough, some might not be very good at English, they try very hard to communicate with us. They try to help us as much as possible, maybe because we look terribly bad. Their dinner is the most delicious curry rice i my life. And their bedding are very warm and clean. Highly recommend this hut to everyone. I will definitely stay here again for sure for the next attempt to semmit Fujisan.

As with any mountain hut, there were a lot of bad reviews, so I went prepared. However, when I arrived at Horaikan, I was so exhausted that I couldn't move an inch. The young male staff wiped my clothes that got wet from the rain and helped me carry my luggage. I was very grateful for his kindness, and the beds were separated and felt clean. Although it was on the upper floor, there is space to store luggage, making it easy to clean up and prepare. The person who wrote that the dinner was tasteless! Isn't it very satisfying to be able to eat such hot food at that altitude?Perhaps because there are people who like bread and people who like rice, it's a good idea to have both for breakfast. There is an explanation on the website that there will be no power for check-out at 6 o'clock, so I think they knew this in advance. When I stayed there, no one was violating etiquette, and those leaving in the middle of the night were very quietly getting ready and leaving without making much noise. I felt that the staff's concern for the guests was felt and that the guests also had good manners. The cheerful host was also kind and answered my questions in a friendly manner. The sunrise was also great from the mountain hut. After watching the sunrise from the mountain hut, we set out for the summit. It was a memorable first time climbing Mt. Fuji with my son in his 20s, and I think one of the reasons why it was such a good memory was because we were in a mountain hut.Thank you Horaikan!

Had a great stay at Horaikan. This hut is at the mid point between 5th station and the peak. It took us 2.5 hrs (12pm-2.30pm) to reach Horaikan, and another 2.5 hrs (2am-4.30am) to reach the peak, mostly due to the morning jam. We booked a 2 pax pod (about 2m by 2m) which we found was pretty spacious and had plenty of space to put your belongings overhead. We had the top bunk and we could both stand up straight in it. Small plug in night lights are provided and there is 1 charging points for each person. You can charge your electronics there. Our data reception was also decent. Toilets are bio toilets and very clean. Food were priced ard 500-700 yen and bottled water is 500 yen each as of Summer 2024. The staff were very nice and spoke decent english. We reached the hut pretty early at 2.30pm (i believe actual check-in hours are suppose to be from 4pm) but they checked us in without qns and also explained in detailed what to expect from the huts. Would definitely recommend this hut for the wonderful service. But do note that it is still a distance away from the peak, if you would prefer to start your hike later the next morning, you should try to book a hut at a higher elevation.

The room was nicer and cleaner than the mountain hut at the 8th station where I stayed before. I was thinking, ``If this is the case, I'm not throwing away my mountain hut,'' but the curry I had for dinner turned out to be pretty bad. It may have been a retort dish, but it was a taste that I don't often come across. I think it's reasonable since it's a mountain hut, but I left most of my companions behind. I had high hopes that the dinner at the previous mountain hut would be delicious even with just the rice, but... However, I finished my meal and made it to the top safely. The people at the hut were kind, and when I was planning to leave around 1 o'clock, they told me that there would be no problem, so I was able to climb the summit with peace of mind.

It is a very private mountain house, and the service staff are also very polite and friendly. If there were 100 points, I would give it 200 points. The food is also delicious. By the way, I brought the bananas myself, he didn’t provide them😊
