On July 13th, the end of the rainy season, I stayed overnight in Tokyo at 34 degrees Celsius, looking for a cool place. This is a pension located quite far up the mountain in Kurumayama Kogen, near the ski resort in winter. There is a temperature difference of around 20 degrees Celsius compared to the city, and when I step out of the car, the wind is cold and I feel cold.On the top of the mountain, gas is sometimes generated and it feels very nice to be surrounded by negative ions. The inn was called a pension, but it was hard to find because it was in the back of a villa area, but there was nothing around, and the lowland plateau spread out below, and the green mountains as far as the eye could see.I checked in with a refreshing feeling. Is the building old? Is it open or not?No, is this a storage room? Is there a separate entrance? No one was there, and there was no sound.I went inside and called out to them, but there was no response. When I went outside and called, a woman answered the phone and said she would come. As I was waiting, he popped his head out of the entrance I had just entered and said, ``I'd like you to press the doorbell here.''sorry. I didn't see it. . .Musty smell inside, probably due to the high humidity outside. The room was on the second floor, but there were windows on two sides. When you open itcool thingIt's cool.It feels like staying in a mountain hut right before the summit. The room was really old and looked like a room above a warehouse in the countryside and didn't have any fancy features, but it was good enough for me and although I thought it would be a little tight for a couple to stay there, I was able to stay there as the evening went on. I put my hand on the window and looked at it, and sometimes I thought, ``Oh, I like this feeling,'' and sometimes I didn't.In the evening, we had a meal centered on wild plants and vegetables, including pork teppanyaki, which was very delicious and very satisfying.Maybe it was because I had a little to drink at dinner, but I got sleepy early and slept for about two hours, but then I woke up around 11 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep after that.As I expected, I opened the window and saw the street shining brightly in the darkness. As I watched, thick white gas suddenly rose from beneath the mountain and immediately enveloped the inn. There seemed to be a spring water flowing right next to it, and while I could hear the intermittent sound of flowing water, I could see the faint light of a streetlight about 100 meters ahead, which was also magical. The time was just past 1am.“Ah, I really like this feeling.”The next morning, when I approached the hostess at check-out, she turned out to be a very friendly and cheerful person.Should we have talked more? It's a great place to get away from the heat in the summer. In winter, it's probably skiing. This is a pension I would like to visit again.
