I was able to spend a comfortable time with careful guidance. I was very satisfied with the hot springs and the food.

I used it at a day trip hot spring. The hot water contained salt, which is unique to Kashio Onsen, and it felt good. There were no other customers, so it seemed like the place was reserved.

It seems that the day trip hot spring will no longer accept visitors in May 2023 due to equipment issues.Only hotel guests can now take a bath, so I was able to enjoy the hot springs more relaxedly than before.

First visit on September 3, 2023.For my first stay at a solo inn, I went to Kashio Onsen, which I had been interested in since seeing it on TV a few years ago. This time I stayed at Shioyuso.First of all, even though I had made a reservation without dinner, I arrived quite late, so I visited without having dinner. I was used to being hungry, so I only had a few snacks, but they seemed to be concerned about this and served me three types of rice balls and pickled eggplant.I did something for which I am truly sorry. The contents are pickled plums, cod roe, and Japanese ginger? I was suddenly moved by how delicious and how sincerely they made it. The rice balls and pickles were very delicious.Regarding the bath, I managed to take a bath twice in the evening and in the morning. There is only one indoor bath, which is large enough for one person to take a bath. It's not that thick, but it's definitely salty. I felt very comfortable and warmed up. After all, taking a morning bath feels so good. It's special.Never open the window when taking a bath at night. Full of moths. Now that I think about it, it might have been better to just take an indoor bath. However, there was one small cricket in the washing area. I was glad it was small because I could still pick it out.The room is a Japanese-style room, but it's a good size, not too small and not too wide. The futon was already laid out. It's good to fold it after all.The view from the room was good. It feels like a country inn and you can relax.Breakfast is served in your room using local wild vegetables and fish. It was very delicious. I couldn't stop using chopsticks. Is it the landlady or the guard dog Spitz to see you off? I was able to stay in a very good mood as I was seen off by a large number of children, such as porcupines, carp, and other animals. This is a long post, but in the end, I'm glad that Shioyuso was the first ryokan I visited. Although it is deep in the mountains, it was a wonderful hot spring inn that felt old in places. thank you very much.
