As I was driving along the lakeside, I suddenly found it in an open area. There is a parking lot on the opposite side of the lake, so be careful of pedestrians jumping out. There were towels (100 yen?) at the shop, and it was very busy. When you dig in the water's edge, you'll see them popping up. It was hot under the sand, so we had fun figuring out how deep and wide we could dig, and how we could draw in water from the lake.Best of all, there are shovels and benches everywhere, so you can go empty-handed.There's also a proper footbath, so it might be a good idea to take a dip after getting covered in sand.I couldn't find a place to wash my feet.

This place is quite interesting. There is a hot spring dug into the beach by the lake. There is a store nearby where you can rent shovels, which is very convenient. If you don’t want to get into a fight, you can soak in the ready-made foot bath nearby. Towels are sold in the souvenir shop.

This is my favorite campsite among the many campgrounds in Hokkaido.Since we went in the summer, there were a lot of insects, so insect protection is a must!Hot water comes out from the sand, so it's great to warm up right after playing in the lake! The children were very happy. There were plenty of beetles and fish nearby, so I didn't have any trouble finding things to do, like riding a horse or buying soft-serve ice cream.I went on a weekday, so it was almost a private camp, and there were a few other groups, but I was blessed with good people and it was a fun camping experience.

Lake Kussharo is right in front of you.A rare campsite where hot springs spring up when you dig into the sandy beach in front of you. However, it smells like sulfur.Deer and foxes roam around the site at night, so be especially careful when managing food.
