While renovating an old house that is over 100 years old, we operate a camp car and subscription lodging facility. The website has pictures of beautiful interiors, but the bathroom and foot mat that are not shown are full of mold, and the bathtub has been painted, so the paint has peeled off from the mold and has turned brown over a wide area. It's a place you don't have to worry about using. Also! The trash in the communal area remained full, and although we stayed there for two nights, it was never cleaned up, and my wife and I couldn't understand the sanitary principles of the owner and staff.

I stayed for one night and two days on Saturday and Sunday. We experienced DIY and working in a farm, but especially in DIY, we had the experience of renovating a room, such as adding curtains and painting the walls of a room, which can only be experienced in an old folk house. The owner is friendly and easy to talk to. The potatoes grilled over charcoal in aluminum foil were delicious.By the way, the Minowa Onsen Nagata no Yu, which is located around the old folk house, is spacious inside and especially comfortable as there is a hot spring outside and a space to relax. Please give it a try.

I stayed there for one night and two days as a volunteer. As for volunteer activities, I helped with DIY at an old folk house and farm work.I have always been interested in the old folk house restoration project, and it was really fun to see what the old folk houses looked like while they were being renovated, and to think about what kind of facility I would turn them into while actually doing some DIY. I helped with farm work by preparing the fields owned by the share house and helping with the harvest of vegetables. After the work, we prepared a meal using the vegetables we had harvested, and we were amazed at how delicious it was.The residents of the share house are all kind and friendly, making it a nice and comfortable place. I could see the fields and trains passing by on the tracks, and the quiet and relaxing time was very appealing. It's located in a place in Nagano that isn't often visited by tourists, so I think I was able to get a real sense of rural life. I was very happy to learn that Nagano is a quiet and beautiful place with a lot of nature.I have a strong interest in regional revitalization, so it was great to be able to actually be involved in the restoration of old folk houses and experience the charm of the region. I had an experience that can only be found here, and it became a memory that will last a lifetime. However, I felt that there was a mismatch in needs, as the owner's business was very personal and we were unable to receive feedback related to regional revitalization.

I participated from Tokyo as a volunteer intern twice for 2 nights and 3 days. When I went there, I had the opportunity to spend some valuable time doing things that I would never do on a daily basis, such as DIY in an old folk house and harvesting vegetables. The residents of the share house and the volunteers are all wonderful and unique people, and I, as a high school student, was able to enjoy my time here.It was a wonderful place that I would want to go to again and again.

It was a very rare and interesting opportunity for us as we were doing some DIY work on our own house and storehouse, and we were able to work together and experience working in the fields, both of which were things I wanted to do! It was a fulfilling time as I was able to talk about various things over meals with the people from the share house.

I stopped by for half a day to take a tour. The field is filled with a wide variety of pesticide-free vegetables. I thought how rich and luxurious it would be to live a life eating vegetables grown with our own hands. The interior was mostly DIY, and it was a wonderful space where the owner's taste shined through. The residents spoke to me in a friendly manner, and I thought it would be fun to spend time in this community. It is a place where time seems to flow slowly.

Taki-san's share house and farm provided the perfect sense of home I needed while I was traveling in Japan. He and his lovely housemates were so friendly and accommodating, I immediately felt welcomed and accepted. And that was in spite of the language barrier! I feel like the place has a lot of potential for attracting more short-term accommodation seekers and tourists, however, currently it has more of a home vibe than that of a guesthouse. But that was exactly what I was looking for, so it wasn't an issue for me. I think if he wants to take Hinatabocco in more of a guesthouse direction rather than primarily a long-term housing collective or share house, certain things could be more standardized, such as designating specific bedrooms for short term guests and establishing a few more boundaries within the house so guests don't feel like they are invading the privacy or personal space of the long term residents. That said, I personally wouldn't have changed anything for my own stay there, so it's really up to Taki-san in terms of the direction he would like to take the house. Overall, I'm so happy to have made friends with Taki and his housemates, and I look forward to seeing everyone again when I return to Japan!
