I slept in an inn that didn't have a TV, listening to the rustling of trees and the sound of rain. The meals are also carefully prepared.

I stayed here with a Japanese acquaintance for one night and the owners were lovely. My acquaintance made the reservation and took care of most of the details--the owners do not speak any English. We didn't have dinner here, but for breakfast, they were able to accommodate my lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. I think they could probably accomodate a vegan diet for breakfast, at least, given the only animal products in breakfast were eggs and honey. But again, this would have to be communicated in Japanese. The rooms have notebooks for visitors to write about their travels instead of magazines or whatever else. My room had two volumes, with the first starting in 2006! Unfortunately the rooms didn't have AC or even a fan, so I had to open the windows fully at night to get comfortable in the warm August night. It cooled down quickly though. They have Japanese honeybees (Apis cerana japonica) on the property that are set away from the building. I was really surprised that the bees were much more docile and small compared to European honeybees (Apis mellifera).Visitors who stay overnight can try monofloral honey samples for free, if you only visit the honey store it is ¥100 per sample. There are about 12 different honeys available to sample, including Japanese honeybee honey! I was shocked at how different the Japanese honeybee honey tasted, even compared with European honeybees. They sell many kinds of honey in the store, as well as books, candles, wax chips, and tenugui. I bought several jars of Japanese honeybee honey as omiyage for my friends in the US--the owners said that in 3 years, they got only 10kilos of honey from their hives! The Japanese honeybee doesn't produce much honey, but what they do make is delicious and definitely something you should try if you're in the area!

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base accommodation for the 38km Central Divide Long Trail, and thank you for your help as we did last year. Located in the pension area below Kurumayama Ski Resort, there is a borrowed view from the window frame of the inn's common room (you can see Japanese sedges in mid-July), and there is a honey storehouse (more than 12 tatami mats) with a variety of honeys.I have been a fan for 5 years. In 2017, I stayed at Tateshina Stroll Base for the second consecutive year. Dinner at the inn is kind, fun to eat, and delicious. Best of all, the couple's good nature, the smiling sisters who help out, and the information you can't find in a guidebook can be obtained. This time, we will introduce Komagata Rock (the silhouette of a big horse🐴 on a huge rock surface, which stands out even more when it gets wet in the rain)Furthermore, at Daimon Inari Shrine, we were able to see a small sumo ring where sumo wrestlers would have trained long ago.I learned a lot from them.I will return to the inn next year to conquer the 2 untrodden and watershed trails. For more information about the Central Divide Trail, please contact the Nagawa Town Hall Tourism Division.

We were exposed to nature and had delicious food. In the morning, I was able to eat bread with honey, which is also sold at the honey store, which was helpful when purchasing.Although there is no TV in the room, I was able to get away from everyday life and spend some relaxing time reading books and looking at nature.Thank you very much♪I would like to visit you again!

The food was also elaborate and wonderful.Even if you bring small children with you, there is a space where you can read picture books, so I think you can have a relaxing time.I used it for skiing in the winter, but this was my first time in the summer. It was cool and great.
