I made a reservation for my stay over the phone. Since I was staying for one night starting on Thursday, I was expecting a weekday rate, but I was told that I would like the rate on the day before a holiday. I asked for an explanation of the reason, but there was no clear answer. I made a reservation with this, but I was not satisfied with it, so I canceled it later.

This is a prestigious inn where people such as Taro Okamoto and Rokusuke Ei stayed. The open-air bath in the garden was featured in the American magazine ``LIFE'' as ``the most Japanese bath.''

I had the opportunity to stay at an inn that I read about in a magazine column a long time ago. Although the building is old, it is well maintained and has a quaint feel. Although I was traveling alone, the landlady kept me company throughout dinner, which made me happy. The menu was locally sourced and went very well with the local sake. The bath was a ``garden bath,'' and we took hot water in a four-hole bath placed in the garden. It was a blissful time. Currently, they are only accepting one group per day, and this luxury is such that they would like to keep it a secret if possible.

I stayed at this inn several years ago. |Although advisors normally only accept reviews from the past year, there is something I would like to say. …

This is the regular lodging of contemporary art master Taro Okamoto, who frequently visited Shimosuwa to participate in the Onbashira Festival. The landlady who knew me back then is 91 years old and is doing well. When you visit Suwa, the food you'll definitely want to stay at is Sakuranabe. This is also delicious so I recommend it.
