The open-air bath was nice. The surroundings are quiet and the sound of trains passing nearby makes me feel like I'm on a trip.

I chose this inn after reading the reviews, and it was a very good inn just like the reviews said. I took a lot of great photos of the Taishokan corridor, which was used in the filming of Yudo, and it was a great stay as it was snowing. The inside of the building is old, but it was kept clean. When I reserved a private bath and went to Taishokan, I was impressed by the retro glass door, washroom, and bathroom tiles, which made me feel like I had traveled back in time and would look great on Instagram. Since it was a weekday, I was able to relax and enjoy the large public bath, which was reserved almost exclusively, and my wife and children were very satisfied. If I had to make a negative comment, it would be that it would have been better if they had added wasabi separately to the children's dishes. The proprietress and waitress were also friendly and made me feel at home, which was great. This is an inn that everyone should definitely stay at.

I stayed here as a solo traveler. I was very satisfied with the atmosphere of a good old Japanese inn. The facility may be old, but it is well-maintained and very comfortable. Of course, the dinner and breakfast were delicious, but I felt very luxurious as I ate while looking out at the beautiful bamboo forest and moss garden. The quality of the hot springs and the structure of both the indoor and outdoor baths are excellent, especially the outdoor bath, where you can hear the sound of the bamboo trees swaying in the wind and the chirping of birds (and the sound of the Tango Railway passing by every few minutes). You'll be so immersed in it that you'll forget. I was very grateful to the hostess and other staff for being so kind. People who expect state-of-the-art equipment and a wealth of amenities may not be satisfied, but people who seek priceless fulfillment and satisfaction will definitely like it.Due to a misunderstanding on my part, I did not visit the room associated with Professor Seicho Matsumoto this time, so I would like to visit again and take a look. thank you very much.

The rooms in the new building have been renovated and are clean. You should take a tour of the retro old building. The food is also delicious. The staff are also very kind. The hot springs are retro, but the water is good and satisfying. Even though the building is old, the inside is very clean. This is an inn that you shouldn't judge by its appearance.

Hotels recommended by hot spring professor MatsudaI was finally able to comeThe old Taisho Roman building does not have a toilet in the room, so I booked the new building (Meccha Showa). There were only 3 groups staying overnight on Sunday.Although the exterior may not be described as nice, the interior was well maintained and kept clean.Private baths and public baths are only available from 4pm.I took a bath many times, but each time I was alone. You can see the stars from the open-air bath, so romantic lolNow, as for the quality of the spring...Although there is no list of ingredients, the hot springs are rich in minerals and gentle on the skin. The more you put it in, the more you can feel the softness.Of course, the water was flowing directly from the source, and the temperature was just perfect for the 40 degree temperature on the day we stayed. You can only take a bath until 11pm at night. You can enter from 6:30 in the morning.Check out is at 10am so I can't relax. The food was delicious and it was a nice hot spring inn.It was more beautiful than the photos on travel sites etc.

I was looking for a hot spring surrounded by nature in Kyoto and stayed here. The station is also nearby. We are particular about using 100% natural hot spring water. The temperature of the hot water was not high, and it was a pleasant hot water that was hard to touch. There is also an open-air bath, and the bamboo forest and mountain air outside is very pleasant. The voices of the birds are very beautiful in the morning. The rocky area from which the hot water gushes out in the indoor bath has a wonderful variety of rocks and the way they are layered, and the sound of the water flowing down was soothing to the mind and body. It's a historical inn, so it's a bit old, but the retro feel was refreshing. The Taishokan building at the inn has a history of being loved by the great literary figures of the time, and is so charming and wonderful that in recent years it has been used as a filming location for the movie Yudo. The breezeway and antique glass are especially beautiful. The food was delicious, and most of all, we had a wonderful view of the bamboo forest and moss garden from the room where we ate, and the staff were very helpful in giving us tourist advice, which made it delicious and enjoyable. The most moving thing for me was going to the mountains in the hotel's car at night and seeing cute wild deer and lots of fireflies. The deer croaked twice. It was a beautiful voice. The fireflies were bright and flew very high, and they were flying all around us as we got out of the car. It was beautiful and I was so moved that I could say it was a lifelong memory. It was a service provided by an inn, but it just so happened that the fireflies were just beginning to appear, and that day was the first firefly drive of the summer, so we were very lucky. I highly recommend going during the season when there are fireflies. The deer were also very calm and I saw 6 of them. Highly recommended for those who like Taisho romance. The hot water is also great. It's used in movies. Thank you very much for your help. The parking lot is large and very convenient. It's close to the sea, which is great. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

It's a nice hot spring inn that's very quiet, with no unnecessary noise other than the occasional railroad crossing alarm in the distance. There is nothing to say about the large indoor bath or the open-air bath. If I had to say, I wish the bathing time was a little longer. This time I was traveling alone, but next time I will be with my wife. At that time, I would like to enjoy a private family bath.
