The rooms are open and allow you to enjoy nature, and the service is also very good. However, I was a little concerned about the hygiene of the outside bath and the fact that it was too open. Each dish for dinner was of high quality, but it was my first experience as a course.・One item for dinner is Chawanmushi, which is the most flavorful and salty dish.・The second item is soba which is a large amount for a bowl.・Vegetables are only potatoesI gave it 4 stars because it was a little unique and didn't suit me.

Stayed at Wakkanupuri Resorts Rera, quieter sibling to the original WakkanupuriStyle.Nordic Japanese chic hideawaySetting. One of the dreamiest places in Hokkaido, on the largest Caldera lake in Japan and the second largest in the world. Felt like a secret stay as it was a ten minutes drive down south from the original Wakkanupuri and there are only 4 buildings in a huge space tucked in between the lake and the forestExplore.Nearby Lake Mashū & magical Mount Iō, I drove in full mist to see this fairy tale landscapeRooms.Bedroom has a view of the beach and lakeThe onsen was spacious and heavenly, and just like the rest of the house, has amazing views@ the hotel. The “hotel” has two houses next to the lake. My house was a 800 sq ft one bedroom built inches from the lake, the other house was tucked a bit further back from the beach.Food & drinks. The best traditional kaiseki with Hokkaido ingredients, the restaurant was in a separate house, with two spacious dining rooms separated by the kitchenPrices.$705 half boardRating.5/5

[Hats off to the chef's brilliant evening menu]An inn for one group per day near Lake Kussharo. (It can accommodate 2 to 8 people...well, 4 people is probably the best...)There is an indoor bath in the room overlooking the garden, and if you walk through the garden there is a wooden bath with a view of the lake, which is the best part. I couldn't help but send the photo to the author of the movie ``Yudo.''After taking a bath and cooling down a bit, I headed to the second floor where the dinner venue was located. After taking a bath, we started off with a toast of Sapporo Classic Beer. The food is Japanese cuisine. There are two service women who provide excellent hospitality. The head chef himself comes out and explains the dishes.First of all, [Advanced]``Cold chawanmushi with sea urchin and sea lettuce from Rishiri''...Cold chawanmushi topped with sea urchin. Apparently, the sea urchins from Rishiri are the best this time of year, so they chose them for us. This sea urchin is sweet and delicious. This is a dish that I'm happy about since I haven't been able to find a decent amount of sea urchin since I came to Hokkaido.【Bowl】``Hamanaka cod crab, Japanese mandarin radish bowl''...The base soup stock is quite delicious, and I can look forward to the dishes that follow. The mackerel is mostly crab (not the crab sticks from Kanetetsu Delica Foods), and there is only a small amount of tsunagi. More than 90% of the ingredients are cod crab. It has a great flavor and texture and is delicious. Enjoy the real pleasure of crab.[4 types of sashimi]“Seasonal Sashimi”…“Botan shrimp from Mashike Town”…purchased according to the specified size. Gently season it with kelp for about 3 hours. It's full of flavor and delicious.``Honmenuke''...fish caught in the waters around Hokkaido. We calm down, let it rest, and let it age for two weeks. The hands take their time to bring out the flavor.“White whelk”…Delicious with a crunchy texture.“Tuna from Funka Bay”…thick, medium-fatty, fatty and delicious.【pottery】``Nemuro Kinki Matsukasa Roasted Soup''...I often eat sweet sea bream Kasamatsuage, but this is my first time trying Kinki. I was surprised at how delicious this was. Although the scales are not as clear as those of sweet sea bream, the fatty kinki goes well with the fat and dashi stock, making it very delicious. The fried zucchini with maitake mushrooms and summer vegetables is not only a well-balanced accompaniment, but also delicious.[Main dish]``Natural scallops from Shari and simmered scallops''...Slightly roasted scallops, sweet super fruit tomatoes, asparagus, and simmered scallops. A refreshing summer dish. I appreciate each and every elaborate dish.[Charcoal]``Ichibo Shiretoko Beef''...The core of the beef is warmed up in the bonito soup, and then grilled on the outside over charcoal so that it's fully cooked. On the side is a small strawberry sauce called mash ruby, which is good to use as an accent to the meat. The taste was delicious, but the meat was a little tougher than I expected, and it took me a while to eat it. That's my only regret today. Everything else is almost perfect.[Rice]..."Kettle-cooked rice with Rishiri star anise and fried burdock"...When I heard star anise, I thought it was a spice, but in Hokkaido it was white fish. It is also called hakkaku because it is a fatty fish with an octagonal cross section. Also, each piece of fried burdock is finely chopped, and when you eat it, it's fatty and has the texture of burdock, which is delicious. I couldn't finish it all, so I had it made into rice balls for a late night snack.【sweetness】“Wakkanupuri Cheesecake”…Handmade cheesecake. A raw, moist cheesecake. A very elegant dessert, not too sweet. It's delicious to have coffee at the end and eat it with cake. The head chef who served us some very elaborate dishes was from Hokkaido. He reportedly drove 50,000 kilometers to visit producers in order to gather ingredients. I think that's what allows him to create serious, sincere, and meticulously prepared dishes.A chef you'll want to support. The homepage had pictures that looked French, and we thought they would serve French food, but instead, it was basically Japanese cuisine. Some people might get bored if they stay for a long time, so they have a second person to accommodate them.Once you visit this inn, you will be satisfied with the combination of bath and food.
