Had an absolutely amazing stay here right as ski season closed out. Keisuke and the other staff made the experience wonderful, with excellent English to explain how everything in the nozawa onsen area worked. They explained everything from how we could rent ski gear; to what was open and closed around us (a lot of stuff ends up closed as soon as Apr 1 rolls around and staff leave). The bookable private onsen was soothing after a day on the slopes, and the wonderful breakfast was a great way to kick off your day. Will definitely come back during the normal ski season.

We Loved Residence Yasushi! It was so comfortable, spacious, clean and perfect for our family snow vacation. We stayed for 1 week. The breakfast was delish and they even accommodated my gluten free husband each morning. …

Lovely rooms and two onsen baths, which can be booked for private use. Don't come here expecting much of a Japanese style. The property is completely run by staff from Australia and other western countries. Breakfast is toast and eggs, there are no Japanese options. As another recent review has said, the service level is inconsistent. They seem to rely on seasonal workers who treat the reception area like their communal living room, and are more interested in chatting with each other than in providing the level of attention to guests that you would expect at this price point. It was a decent stay, but I'm not sure I'd recommend.

Highly recommend Residence Yasushi if you are visiting Nozawa Onsen! Rooms were beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff were super-friendly, with special shout-out to Sarah who went above and beyond to help us! The hotel onsen could be reserved for 30 mins per day and was totally private - great option after a big ski day!

I can't say enough nice things about this place. The room (we had a suite) was surprisingly much larger than we expected. The beds were also a decent size and not the single size ones we're used to here in Japan. …

We recently stayed at this lovely property in NozawaOnsen. The rooms are spacious, and light and airy in decor. The beds were huge and very comfortable. We loved having an onsen in the hotel. Perfect for an after ski soak.Breakfast at the hotel was included and really nice. The location is super handy to all the bars and restaurants and an added bonus was a shuttle van to the chairlift or ski locker. All the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful stay.Thank you

Rooms were lovely and the onsen in the hotel was amazing but the service was very inconsistent. There were 2 staff who were great and the rest were very young and not that helpful. For the amount you pay I would expect more, they would wear tracksuits around and treat it somewhat like their own house. Which I would expect a better level of service at this price. They also got our room wrong at the start, which was fine except then they kept trying to change the room and kept making different excuses as to why they got it wrong. I don’t mind at all a mistake but just be honest. Don’t lie. Then don’t keep moving and making up reasons as to why. They said they would give us a bottle of wine to apologise for the inconvenience. They didn’t. Again I don’t mind, but just don’t say you will and then not. It was a quiet embarrassing for them as to how they handled it. You can tell it’s run by people who are just here for the season and haven’t done this before.
