Summer hiking from a beautiful mountain lodge to escape the city heat. Easy access to bus services to multiple trailheads throughout the mountains. Masa-san and Maki-san create such a welcoming cosy space to escape - thoughtful, stylish, beautifully presented. Incredible quality in a home-feel environment. Private in-house onsen, superb home cooked meals. Highly recommend both breakfast and dinner (no regrets decision!)

Back from Manimani-sanMy summer vacation is over, and my daily life has returned.It's been 5 years since I last visited the Okushiga Highlands, where it was cool and the wind blowing through the trees was refreshing, and even now when I think about it, a cool breeze still blows in my heart.Mr. Manimani's heart was cleansed by the large trees around him.The rooms are tidy and clean, and every corner has been designed to make you feel at ease, and just by being in Manimani-san, the fatigue of daily life that you didn't even notice seems to disappear.The wife's cooking was also very delicious.We spent some time doing nothing surrounded by trees in the space that the owner and his wife had created with all their heart.It was a wonderful and memorable holiday.I think summer is the best season to visit Okushiga Kogen.thank you very much.

Ever since I met my wifeI love it and use it once or twice a year.This is a guest house.I'm disappointed that the rating is only 5 stars!I would like to give a higher rating if possible ✨The perfect guesthouse for meI wish I could list everything that has moved me so far,If I would like to highlight① The inside of the building is very beautiful and clean.Once, when I took a friend of mine who was a hotel worker.I was very impressed with the clean environment.Also,②The owners are a very nice family,Attentive hospitality and delicious home-cooked mealsA person who treats you with a comfortable distanceI'm impressed every time.You don't have to do anything special anywayI feel happy just by being hereThis is such a space. ✨Sightseeing and mountain climbing in spring and summer,Colorful leaves in autumn, skiing in winter,I dare to stay in my room and read.No matter when you go out to playI think it will be a wonderful experience ✨

So far, I've used it about 7 times in various seasons (the photos are from each season). The food, the selection of drinks that go well with it, the service, the cleanliness, the interior, the music, etc...everything is amazing. The dishes are simple but carefully prepared, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. I'll never forget the taste of broccoli soup or grilled rice balls at a summer barbecue! It's a truly wonderful place where you'll want to take your loved ones. I'll bother you again😊

Masa and Maki have created a lovely, welcoming space, calm and considered, with the aesthetic informed by Japanese culture and mid century modernism. Evrything you need is present. The decent sized rooms are clean and warm. Theonsen was invigourating. Everything is well organised - ski and boot storage and drying room, laundry facilities, upstairs kitchentte and living room where one can take an option to 'cook in'. The dinners were a highlight too - changing menu every night.It is located only a stone's throw from the resort, literally next to Grand Phenix Hotel.Highly recommended for a stay that brings one closer to nature.

Great experience and overall time at the Lodge. Masa and Maki were very accommodating. The Lodge itself was amazing and comfortable. The heated floors and bath tub for soaking were great to have after a long day on the slopes. The breakfast was tasty and healthy. I'd advise doing the dinner at the lodge if possible. We found it hard to get dinner elsewhere in that particular area.
