Having a wonderful stay at Bamboo-Hill Sasaokaso. Currently sitting in my “western” room as I write this. The hotelier and her family are world class, they are attentive, ultra friendly, and really care about their guests. I’ve been enjoying the daily breakfast included with my stay. The location is 4 minutes walking uphill from town and 6 minutes downhill from the main ski lift. Having a private (to the hotel) onsen is also a huge benefit - no jostling at the public onsen. Everything is clean and tidy.Thank you Bamboo-Hill Sasaokaso for the wonderful stay so far.

It's about a 7-minute walk to the Nagasaka slopes (the staff gave out lift tickets for hotel guests, so I decided to run for 5 minutes). It's about a 3-5-minute walk downhill to the street to eat, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the central bus tunnel. While you're stopping by, I also recommend taking a look around Sotoyu Island. The staff at the accommodation are very friendly and I highly recommend it if you are going to Nozawa.

I stayed here for 10 days this time. The landlady is very kind. For breakfast, you can have unlimited milk, orange juice, coffee, and bread, as well as rice and miso soup. Do you care about your eating habits? It's about a three-minute walk from the Nagasaka Cable Car and a three-minute walk from the hot spring street. The location is very good, the environment is clean and quiet, and I really like this stay. Thanks for taking care of me.

Had a pleasant stay at Bamboo Hill. It’s very well located - 5 mins walk uphill to the Gondola and 5 mins walk downhill to the village area and main food options. Very walkable from Chuo terminal. …

A little ryokan owned by a friendly family. The location is excellent, three minutes walk from the Nakasaga gondola. You feel at home here, with a common living room, a dry room for ski equipment and clothes, a dining room where they serve a rich Japanese breakfast and finally a little Onsen bathroom to relax after the day on the slopes. The owners speak very limited English, but with the translators app nowadays this is no longer an issue. Wifi signal can be weak, Onsen water can be a bit too hot: these are minor inconveniences. Overall we are satisfied with our stay at Bamboo Hill.

I stayed during end of December during the pandemic so I was the only customer staying there for 3 days. It was a nice place to stay, very quiet. The only problem was that sometimes it was hard to find the lady owner because every time you go out you need to leave the key. When you come back you have to find her to get the key again.Breakfast is traditional Japanese so some of the things I couldn't eat like mentaiko (roe).
