Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, we stay 3 night here and my kids enjoy the onsen and the hotel, their outdoor onsen is private and cozy. Public bathroom clean and equipped with Dyson hairdryer.

Super friendly staff, an outdoor onsen that pampers you, and rooms that are clean, comfy, and pretty. This hotel comes highly recommended to anyone visiting Tendo, especially when there is no availability in the Ginzan Onsen area! The only weakness is that they can't offer vegetarian meals, but there are restaurants within walking distance that can accommodate vegetarians.

This hotel is impeccable in its service and cleanliness. The nightly onsen was so nice after a long day and the rooms are pretty big. For a solo traveller, I had the luxury of a huge room with two super single bed. If you're looking for a quiet place, this hotel is what you need.

Highly recommended. The staff are standout super efficient, always available and friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean and newly refurbished (especially the rooms). The Japanese breakfast was an amazing experience. If we had to do this northwest region again we'd definitely repeat this as our base.

Very good modern style ryokan near yamadera.Service - the staff is very kind and accommodating. Speak english decently. Shuttle bus is also available free of charge.Rooms - very comfy beds and the tatami flooring is nice. All amenities you need are provided.Food - included dinner was very appetizing and my waitress host gunma was very kind in explaining each meal using a translation machine.Onsen - two baths available. Outdoor one was relaxing and peaceful as I was the only one there.Although i had to pay an extra fee of 135 yen for taking my shoes out after check in it wasnt a dealbreaker. For around 200 usd total I had a fantastic stay overall.

This ryokan was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We showed up a little later than expected but they were still happy to receive us. It was only one night sadly, but the experience was still well worth it. They have a shuttle which is extremely helpful. The breakfast is very good. I would definitely stay here again if I'm back in Tendo someday.

One of the best onsen hotels I've stayed at, especially for the price (16000 yen per night without meal).Room was so spacious with real beds, seating area facing garden, and in-room bathroom/shower (not all Ryokan has that). Only gripe is water pressure was a bit low, but not a big deal since most people will use the onsen bath.Indoor/outdoor onsen bath was super nice. Snow-covered back garden made it even more peaceful. Plenty of areas in the hotel with comfy sofas/chairs facing the garden to sit and relax, watching the ❄️❄️. There are even two massage chairs that we might've used too much.Staff very friendly and helpful, even though they didn't speak too much English, they tried very hard to help us plan our days and made sure we were comfortable. Google translate helped a lot. Informed us about free shuttle buses to Ginzan onsen and Yamadera, which was very helpful!Food was amazing too. Had breakfast and one dinner there. Though not in-room dining, the common dining hall is very spacious. tables are very spread out with dividers in between.Tendo is an onsen town though felt a bit like a residential neighborhood, but it's right on the JR line so make it easy to visit the Yamagata attractions. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Had a great meal at a nearby yakitori shop.Overall really enjoyed the stay and maybe will be back someday!

Beautiful ryokan in Tendo with excellent staff and big rooms with either beds or futons overlooking a Japanese garden. The ryokan came to pick us up at the station and greeted us with wonderful tea and sakura mochi cakes. …

The house was very beautiful, near Dewa Sanzan. The breakfast was also great and the owner made us feel at home.
