When I first heard the name Unzen Kanko Hotel, it was a completely unmarked hotel.I came across this hotel after walking through several classic hotels. It was a mysterious hotel for me, as I couldn't find much information about it even after researching it.I visited the place on a trip to celebrate my wedding anniversary.I arrived at Unzen sightseeing by plane and rental car, and its symmetrical and dignified appearance gave me a sense of solemn divinity.Whether you look at the garden, entrance, or lobby, you'll find a calm, mature space in brown tones. At first sight, I was captivated by the chic, streamlined furniture and the quiet space, which has no buzz or buzzing noises. The staff at the front desk of the hotel also gave me a good impression of their smart and efficient customer service.Another person guided me to my room, and we had a fun conversation, and I was excited with anticipation for the room. The height of the doorknob in the room was designed to be high for guests from overseas, so I felt like I was an important person from around the world when I stepped into the room.I couldn't help but fall in love with the cute William Morris wallpaper on the window frames, bathroom and toilet. Even when I think back on it now, my excitement is reignited (lol) and I feel palpitations. Rather sick? (lol)There are no excessive items, and the amenities are clean and wonderful, with scenes that make you feel so excited that you might faint for a moment in the room. After looking at the rooms for a while, I went on a self-guided in-house cruise and looked around the billiard hall, public bath, bar, lounge, and hotel shop. When I checked the souvenirs I wanted to buy, I was told they were out of stock (lol)When I asked the staff about it, I was told that it would be difficult to get it in stock, so I guess I can't help it.I gathered myself and played billiards for the first time in a while since no one was playing.Although I wasn't very good at billiards, I had fun playing billiards in the room with shining stained glass. The soothing sound of playing beads and the quiet room made me feel like I had traveled back in time to the Showa era. I live in the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras.Actually, I wanted to have tea in the lounge. I had researched in advance that the restaurant would be closed due to the coronavirus, so I enjoyed walking around the garden and touring the Yubatake fields in Unzen until dinner.I couldn't wait for the long-awaited dinner, so as I was waiting in front of the dining room early, the door opened to the sound of a lively gong and I was escorted inside. Really impressive! The dining room I was looking for had a high ceiling and clean white walls, giving me a sense of freedom and dignified elegance. The menu sheets and cutlery were neatly prepared, and when I took a closer look, I felt anxious about the array of ingredients that I don't like as a picky eater.I'm not allergic, I'm just a selfish person. But my anxiety disappeared in an instant. What a wonderful composition and cooking.Although I don't have the experience level to say anything grand, I was impressed by how delicious everything was. I think it would be more accurate to say that I was allowed to eat it.If I were to meet the chef, I might get a handshake and an autograph.Even though I don't like pork, duck, inosine, or beef, I was able to try it. If I were to eat meat, I would want this chef to cook it for me. I'm sure it will be delicious and I'll be leaving with no regrets.I was able to enjoy the surprise and beauty every time I was served a menu of locally produced food for local consumption. For dessert, the cart service allows you to choose whatever you like, so feel free to put whatever you like on it and end up with a dessert (lol). The chef in the white hat, who served the food on my plate, introduced me to the head chef, and I resisted the urge to shake his hand and just praised him. I apologize for taking your time out of your busy schedule even though there were other customers. Also, my husband had requested a cake in advance to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so we had a very meaningful time filled with joy and happiness, and before we knew it, we had been chatting and eating for 3 hours. Ta. Neither of us drink alcohol (lol)Before I knew it, all the guests around me had left.I peeked at the bar to feel better and go back to my room, but since I was too young, I gave up and decided to say goodbye to the formal bar and go back to my room. Then, I was stopped by a shop staff member who came to tell me that she was happy to have prepared the one souvenir she had given up on, and I was very moved.I wanted to say thank you and give you a high five.Well, it was getting late at night, so I decided to take a bath. The bathroom was really cute, with an arch-shaped structure that made me feel comfortable and relieved me of the fatigue from my travels.I bought some soda water in advance and had a toast after taking a bath, ending a thoroughly enjoyable first day.In the morning, when you wake up to the sound of chirping birds and the brightness of the morning sun, take a walk in the garden and say hello to the birds. It was a really pleasant and ideal way to spend a morning, and as a glutton, I was looking forward to it.Breakfast is elegant with plates, cutlery, and courses, and even the way you stand and behave is graceful. The time passed as if I had imagined my ideal. The customer service, service, exterior, and interior are all so polite that I feel sorry for my lack of vocabulary.I was able to spend a stay filled with a sense of happiness without ever having to turn on the TV in the room, and while I was grateful for staying here, I firmly vowed that I would like to come back someday, even though it's not an easy distance to get to. I did. This is the best hotel for both of us. Thank you for the happy anniversary.
