Ryokan in Kakumachi, Ogaki CityThis inn has been around for over 70 years since the end of the war.A heartwarming place where an old lady will kindly welcome you. It costs 3,000 yen for a room without meals, and even sweets are provided.

I stayed there for a long time because I was not feeling well.Grandma brought sweets and drinks from rice balls, and it was really relaxing.I always choose this inn when I go to Ogaki.

The building itself is old and feels like a Showa era guesthouse. nostalgic. It will resonate strongly with people who are familiar with the atmosphere of traditional guesthouses and mountain huts, and it may be difficult for people who like hotels in cities with systemized sound insulation and facilities. It seems that the elderly proprietress is running the restaurant by herself. Personally, I really like this inn.The room feels like my grandmother's house. We stayed as a family of 4 adults in one room on the second floor. Although the futon was large, it was a bit cramped, but there was still plenty of space to put our luggage, and the air conditioner was working, so we were able to get a surprisingly good night's sleep as a family of four.Normally, it would be appropriate for two people to stay in one room, but we went ahead and made it cheaper for them to stay in one room. The landlady is elderly, but even if I check in late at night, she greets me without making an unpleasant face, and even if I check out early in the morning, she is already awake and sends me off in a pleasant manner. When I think of him doing this so carefully by himself, I'm worried about whether he's physically okay or not.Even though the room rate was low, I was happy to receive canned coffee and chocolate pie in the room instead of a welcome drink and sweets. He is very thorough in his customer service, language, and attentiveness, and I wish previous hotel staff would emulate him in his suiting. The inn is also retro and wonderful. The entrance is narrow, but it has a cozy and nostalgic feel and is fun. There are many other ryokan inns with similar buildings and services to this one, but selling their retro value and charging higher room rates. I think it's a great value for money to be able to stay in a place like this for such a low price. There is only one bath for men and women, so only one group can take a bath at a time, and the bath is made of old wood and is quite small. That's a little inconvenient. It seems like the shop is run by one person, so if you look at the back of the shop, you might notice that there are some areas that aren't well-maintained, but the whole street is kept clean, and considering the location in the city and the low prices, it's good enough. I think. It may not be suitable for people who don't want to live in a new, clean place. However, it is a mystery why such a person would think to book this inn in the first place.I would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed at a very precious inn.I only stayed here without meals, but I was completely satisfied. There's a restaurant next door, and the old lady is very cheerful. It seems that my grandmother had been running an inn for 60 years. The name of the place is Kakumachi, and it is said that there were many okiya here.

I've stayed here 3 times so far.Although you will be staying without meals, you can bring your own food and drinks to truly relax. It is probably not suitable for people who expect the services of a Japanese inn.

This is a ryokan that will probably receive mixed reviews. The atmosphere is more like a boarding house for students from the Showa era than an inn.The old lady who runs the store is said to be reaching the end of her life soon, but she is very friendly and caring and has a cute smile.By the way, the futon is an old-fashioned cotton futon, so it's heavy.Even in April, it can be cold at dawn. There is an air conditioner, but it is also old and makes a lot of noise. As others have said, the room cannot be locked inside. Also, once you start looking at the details, you can't say that the cleaning is perfect, but if you think, ``I came to stay at my grandmother's house,'' it's nothing. If you're concerned about taking a bath, just go to the Showa-style public bath in front of the station. The room on the first floor where the old lady was waiting had an anime style illustration on it, and it was very beautiful.I couldn't help but ask, ``Did a manga artist come incognito?'' I was told that his grandchild was drawn.Apparently it's so beautiful that it's a waste to put it away, so they stick it up.If you want to go around the city after checking out, why don't you leave your luggage there? The old lady was so kind to me and lent me an electric anchor even though it was cold at night! The best thing about Kimimatsu Ryokan is the grandmother's personality.I do my best to welcome customers. It was an inn where you could enjoy such consideration.

It is run by a lovely aunt. I think he's in his 80s.The facility itself is 60 years old or more, so it's quite old, but if you're just staying there, you won't have any problems. It's run by an older lady by herself, so it's not like a typical hotel, but you can come and go as you like late at night, and if you let us know in advance, the front door will be open even if it's past midnight. . I felt apologetic, but I continued talking with my old friend, and when I returned around 1 o'clock, the door was open. The bedding is futons spread on tatami mats, and there is a TV in the room. Of course there are also electrical outlets. There were disposable toothbrushes. There is also a hair dryer. Shampoo treatment body soap is also available. The bath is shared and is for 1 to 2 people. The toilet is Western style with flush.

The building is showing its age. It's probably about 40 to 50 years old...It seems like they've done some repairs and cleaning here and there, but because of its age, the cleanliness is... The grandmother's response was good, so I thought about it, but I just couldn't give it a 3 star rating. If you want to stay near Ogaki Station and the Ogaki Castle Ruins and are in a situation where you have to keep costs down, would this be an option?

The bathroom, toilet, room, etc. cannot be called clean. I will refrain from using it next time.
