I don't normally write bad reviews, but I feel obliged to warn future guests about our experience at Villa Markisa.The negative points:- Rat in the toilet on the first evening, luckily resolved by the staff, but not something you hope to experience during your stay.- Entrance gate broken, which caused us inconvenience upon entry.- Dirty breakfast with hair in it on the first day, which is really unacceptable.- Our garden was adjacent to a construction site where excavators were constantly working. The noise was so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Although the accommodation cannot do anything about this, it was still a disturbing factor.- Green swimming pool, which was clearly not well maintained.After complaints we were offered another accommodation, which we appreciated, but it did not solve everything:- Stains on the towels.- No water when showering, and this was also a problem the day before.- Missing breakfast on the third day.- Flowers on the bed were arranged, but this happened a day early.- Bad smell in the garden, which made the stay unpleasant.In addition, the condition of the accommodation was below par:- Loose and broken tiles.- Planks of the decking were loose.- Dirty stains on the curtains and mosquito net.- The bathroom was poorly maintained.-The rails of the curtains were broken.Despite the efforts of the staff to resolve some issues, the many shortcomings of the accommodation could not be ignored. The poor state of maintenance, hygiene and unexpected inconveniences made for a disappointing experience. I would certainly not recommend this villa to others at this time. We paid more than €100 per night, which is a lot by Balinese standards. It's a shame that you get this in return. We will never return here again.The positive points:- Close to the beach, which is a big plus for beach lovers.- The staff responded quickly to our messages and did their best to find solutions to the problems we encountered.- As compensation we received a free late check-out and a floating breakfast

When we arrived at the hotel, the security guard, who did not speak even 1 word of English, greeted us. It was about 11 or 12 o'clock, he asked us to follow him with a hand signal and took us to the room where we were going to stay, and it was terribly dirty. The curtains, the tiles, the bed and the bathroom were all a disgrace to the room. It smelled incredibly bad. Never, ever not a business and a room as shown in the picture, don't believe in the pictures and ruin your vacation like us. We told the security guard that we didn't want to stay in this dump, but he didn't understand us. I ask where the lady tania, who is supposedly the manager but we have never seen her, is, but she doesn't understand. I'm calling him on Whatsapp, writing, and there's no answer. I am writing to Booking, there is no answer. Security guard I think his name is ’Andre' I'm telling my problem to another citizen I found on the street and I'm bringing him to the hotel to translate. Andre also promises that he can't reach the manager Tania, but if we leave, the reservation will be canceled. We are leaving the resort, our 1st day is spent searching for a hotel in Canggu and we can't find a place. After hours, finally, finally, Tania answers my message and says that she is justified in not answering vr calls to messages, citing the fact that it is Sunday. So imagine that you go to 1 hotel and it's a booking agent, your vacation becomes poison, and there's not even 1 interlocutor. As an offer, he offers us a room upgrade for 2 nights versus 1 night, unfortunately, we're going back to that dump because we can't find a place to stay. The house they gave is a house with 3-4 rooms and a pool that looks perfect from the outside, but when you go inside, the same disgusting filth continues. We are receiving a message like a joke that says; I hope the sheets and towels are clean in your room. There are no towels in the room, no toilet paper..... please do not make a reservation we could not get our money back and we could not make accommodation. It's a very dirty and unprofessional dump.

While our stay was only short due to family reasons, we will definitely return when we can. Intania was the best host. She was extremely accommodating when we had to change the booking and was sympathetic, quick and efficient in meeting all of our needs. The villa was just lovely. It was clean, comfortable and had a great feel to it. It is in a great spot and close to the beach and lots of lovely eateries - all walking distance. The pool and grounds were private and great for kids. We would highly recommend staying:)

I'm more of the type to give positive reviews but this time, if I can prevent some people from making the same mistake as us...We spent 3 nights in this residence.The establishment is seriously lacking in maintenance and renovations!We traveled for 3 months in South East Asia... I have never been so disappointed. When the hotel asks for this price, there are certain criteria to respect.- stained, crumbling walls- dirty sinks- Faucets full of limescale and which no longer hold on the furniture and the wall.- Stained sofa- Drinking water is provided, but the tap does not work. We are therefore obliged to buy bottles.- The toilet runs continuously, there is a puddle around the bowl, we practically walk in urine...- The bathtub is unusable: not enough hot water to fill it, and even if you try, the bathtub empties on its own despite the siphon being closed.- Breakfast much too expensive for what you get ($12/person) and you can't even choose, the menu is imposed. (the best restaurants in canggu cost less...)- Breakfast is announced at 8:00 a.m. (no way to change the time...) so you have to set an alarm. Finally breakfast arrives at 8:50 a.m. and you have to eat it in bed, because there is no table for s sit down. Not always practical, especially when they forget the cutlery...- The entrance to the accommodation is a pile of rubbish, no reception just a futon with a guard.- There is only one armchair outside... or is the second one shown in the photos?- On Saturday evening you will be entitled to music until2h00 because of the beach bars.- The only commercial gesture we received was a taxi ride worth €3- you will find cat food right in the middle of the central aisle morning and evening- A plate forgotten under the bed with we don't know what on it... we preferred not to touch it.In short, for poor quality/price ratio, go for it!

Absolutely adored our stay at Villa Markisa. First of all, the villa manager was highly communicative and accommodating throughout our entire time there.Even though we checked in sick, the premises were extremely comfortable for us. It felt like we were in our own little oasis. The private pool, electric kettle, and hot water / rain shower were all a great plus, too.The villas were also centrally located and a stone's throw from the beach, which allowed us to explore Canggu even with our low energy. We caught sight of surfers and overall, it was an excellent base and first impression of Canggu.

Huge Villa, with a huge pool. Great location to the beach. Its a bit away from activities, but easy accessible by Grab Bike.We felt, that the villa could have a little bit more maintain and upkeep. Communication with management is ok, however, there was some mistakes happen. But I have already discussed that with them.

It was average. Close to all the noise in Canggu.I would not recommend it to anyone. The pool looks like it has not been cleaned for awhile. I could see mold and algae growing in it. The first villa we were in, the shower head was not working properly and the water tank is always getting empty as the toilet doesn't stop dripping the water even if it is not being used.In addition to it, the staff was okay. But the room cleaning was not properly done as they do not have proper cleaning materials to use.I had to scrub the shower and toilet as I do not like walking on a moldy floor.The whole villas needs proper treatment and clean up.

the price is pricy, the facilities are complete but there are some things that don't match the photos, and the maintenance is not maintained well, the pool lights go off at night which makes it scary, there are some green mosses visible under the bathtub, the pool is clean but when I arrived it was still being cleaned it should have been ready to use, close to Parerenan beach and the surrounding area, rent motorbikes too, please check first before you go, guys, because I had a problem on the second day but Ms. Tania as the owner and Mr. Andre who is in charge of the location were very quick to respond and helped quickly, I appreciate it therefore

Staying at Villa Markisa is something extraordinary, in the Canggu area of Bali.Very peaceful place here, really makes our minds and bodies release stress, less than 1 km from Pererenan beachThe facilities are very good, there are very comfortable beds and long sofas, clean. Very aesthetic and clean bathrooms, also a well-maintained private swimming pool.Every room here is equipped a private swimming pool and bathroom with separate bathtub and shower. There is no TV provided here, but each room is given WiFi access, 1 in each room with very good quality.It is recommended that you bring a portable speaker, laptop or tablet so you don't get lonely. input and suggestions for this villa include repairing some of the garden and pool lights, so that it is not dark at night.Overall, I really enjoyed my honeymoon here for 2 days with my wife.Tania as the owner of this villa is also very kind, friendly and a solution when I had problems when booking via other applications.I highly recommend this villa for all of you who are planning a holiday in Canggu

It is located 1 minute walk from the beach, unbeatable location. Walking a couple of minutes along the beach is the Beach Club La Brisa (although you can't hear anything from the room). Very friendly staff and the room and pool are amazing.
