They were very kind and came to pick me up at Shimobe Onsen by car.The quality of the hot springs was very good, the accommodation was very clean and well decorated, and the food was very delicious, especially from the mountains. It was great to be surrounded by nature, which you can't experience in the city center.I would like to come again.

I stayed here for one night with my kids. This is a very quaint room, where you can sit around the hearth and enjoy the homemade food made by the inn.We enjoyed the delicious food. It's very satisfying to be able to forget about the time and eat food with my kids that we don't have time to eat, such as local specialties and wild game.

Amazing place! We had the best experience staying at this classical Japanese guesthouse. The host is super sweet and a fantastic cook. We even got a lift to and from the train station. When staying at the guesthouse you get access to the nearby onsen in the evening all by yourself.

I visited with two young people.Accommodation, food, nature, hot springs, culture...The best word of all.We were welcomed by a warm couple. The food, prepared with great care and attention, is so delicious that you'll want to come back every season. The hot springs that make your skin smooth are just the right temperature, and now that you've returned, it's still smooth. As I was familiar with the couple's hometown, I was very interested in hearing about their life in the mountains, and before I knew it, I was back home researching the town. It's the perfect place to escape from everyday life and refresh yourself.

You can enjoy the luxury limited to one group per day. The origin of the place's name is that Emperor Koken of Nara thought it was a very nice place and said that it was ``Nara'', so it was named Narada. The Empress's hot water has a very Toronto hot spring quality, and it was my first time to experience such slippery hot water. I was able to forget the time and enjoy the cool evening breeze while looking at the scenery from the rest room. The food is so delicious that you won't find it in any restaurant. Gibier dishes are odorless and tender, and I think they are particular about making each dish locally produced for local consumption. The tea utensils are also handmade, giving it a warm feel. It doesn't seem to be on sale, but I really wanted to buy it.The people at the hostel are very friendly. You can feel the thoughtfulness that is not in the manual. This is an inn where you can enjoy a different kind of conversation around the hearth. Truly an exciting engine in an unexplored region. I would also like to visit you.

The variety, taste, and taste of the dinner was outstanding. The amago that was slowly grilled in the irori hearth was also delicious. I am grateful that my wife was a kind person and helped me with my troubles. I would definitely like to come again! It was a satisfying trip.

[Additional note due to stay in August 2024]I stayed here for the first time in January and fell in love with the food here. Since then, this was my third stay this year, following in April. Every dinner and breakfast is carefully prepared with seasonal vegetables and fruits that are unique to the area, as well as hunted deer and bears. ). This time, a plate full of delicacies was served: fried deer lung, stewed deer tendon, and bear oil. The main course, deer sukiyaki, served with a rich sauce stewed in wine...it was amazing. For breakfast, I had Japanese food the last two times, but this time it was my first time having Western food. The homemade jams, bean pastes, and pastes that accompanied the freshly baked bread were also handmade, and even the honey was ``foraged''. Yamajin Fortress is now an auberge area. Please enjoy the many dishes that can only be tasted here. …The inn is located right in front of the hot spring “Emotei no Yu”, and if you stay there, you will receive a ticket that allows you to take a bath on both check-in and check-out days, and during the hot spring business hours and from 20:00 to 21:00 only for guests. (There are no bathing facilities in the accommodation building.) The entire Yamajin Fortress is reserved for you, so you can relax and unwind. Take a stroll through Narada village, which has a refreshing atmosphere, and enjoy the tranquility and luxury of doing nothing while enjoying your favorite drink in hand and looking out at the beautiful Lake Narada from a tatami room by the window of the restaurant attached to the hot springs. hey.[First stay in January 2024]I stayed at this inn on January 6th and 7th because I wanted to experience the winter of Narada, which is known nationwide for its famous hot springs, with cherry blossoms and fresh greenery in the spring, and beautiful autumn leaves in the fall. The beauty of the mountains surrounding the lake took my breath away, and I was moved by the quaint village of Narada. Equally wonderful was this “Yamajin Fortress”. The clean, spacious rooms, ample amenities, and the food were truly amazing! In addition to the many dishes prepared with care for the ingredients, the wisdom and skills of the local people, and the originality of the owner and his wife... it was the best. Apparently, most of the ingredients are grown, hunted, or collected. It was a shame to have it all to myself, but I was also happy to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. I thought it would be perfect for families, couples, lovers, and even girls' trips. The conversation with the couple lifted my spirits and recharged my mind and body. I will come again ☆☆☆
