Although it is far from the stone steps of Ikaho Onsen, I think it is a very nice inn. The view from the room was spectacular! The food is delicious and the staff are all kind.

Stayed for 1 night on a weekday Friday. The whole of Ikaho has the impression that there are many old inns, and Shusuien is old, but the interior has been renovated and is clean and comfortable. It is a retro and unique inn with raccoon dog ornaments everywhere. The food was very delicious. The quantity is also just right. This is an inn where you can feel the care and attention to detail.Ishidangai is about a 10 minute walk from the inn. Inns near Ishidangai have narrow roads with many pedestrians and slopes, so it can be difficult to get in and out by car. I felt that it was a good idea to stay here.

Very good traditional ryokan. The room was quite spacious it had both shower and a proper bath. The best way to take a bath there is to go to the onsen though. This way you can enjoy your vacation more like a local. There are two onsens, one for women and one for men, but they switch them, so you can try both. If we're talking about issues, the walls were quite thin, so you could hear people talking outside even with windows closed. The view from the window also wasn't special.

The building is old, but corporate efforts can be seen everywhere. I liked the small open-air bath.
