I used it on a trip with a friend. The building of Wakihonjin is quaint and has a sense of history, but the facilities are very beautiful and clean, and it doesn't feel old at all.I stayed on the second floor, but the stairs are old-fashioned and steep, so if you are an elderly person, the first floor might be better. No two rooms are the same, and each room has its own characteristics, so you'll want to stay in a different room. There are also information panels, so non-guests can also take a look inside.I was also surprised at how delicious the breakfast was. Refills of rice are free. The staff explained the building to me, helped me with my luggage, and served me very kindly. This is a recommended inn. I would like to use it again if I go to Komoro again.

The inn feels like you've traveled back in time, and since it's a weekday, you can reserve it for yourself. It's a wonderful inn with a great atmosphere.I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation.

This is an inn where you can have the valuable experience of staying in a Wakihonjin from the Edo period. The inside has been renovated and is comfortable, clean and easy to use. I think it's irresistible for people who love old folk houses. There are several rooms you can stay in, and the one we stayed in was a maisonette type storehouse that had been renovated, and the bedroom was on the second floor. There is only one washroom with a toilet and shower room on the first floor, so be careful if you don't like stairs. There are two baths, which was nice (for us) as it wasn't just a shower.Breakfast was great!

I visited for a tour of the facility rather than staying overnight. Since it was a weekday and there were no other customers, they kindly allowed me to tour the entire building. The soba noodles I had at the restaurant were delicious. It's only 600 yen, but the elegant and gentle flavor of the soup is amazing. I would definitely like to visit again.

It has always been my dream to stay at an inn that is designated as an important cultural property, so I was very happy that it finally came true. Moreover, I was the only guest. Since it was completely reserved, I was able to walk around the building to my heart's content.I was most worried about the simple lock on the sliding door, but it had been replaced with a regular key, so I was relieved. Also, I read online that it is an old building, so the noise of vibrations and passing cars might be a concern, but the room I stayed in, Sumire no Ma, faced the garden, so I could hear the sound of passing cars. I couldn't hear anything at all and was able to sleep comfortably at night. Also, when I look at the internet for inns, I see that there are restrictions on bathing hours at night, but if there is only one group staying, there seems to be no time restrictions.I think this was done in consideration of the sound leakage from the guest rooms next to the bathhouse. Therefore, even if you return to the inn at 11am, just before the curfew, you can take a bath without any hesitation. The bathroom was not a stone bathtub due to the inn's convenience, but a unit bath type, but the bathtub was quite spacious and there was so much room that even if I stretched out my legs, I couldn't reach the bathtub. Thanks to this, I was able to take a bath very comfortably. There is no TV in Sumire no Ma, but I also like the radio, so I spent my time in the room listening to local Nagano broadcasting. It was very meaningful to be able to stay in a privately reserved accommodation at an inn designated as an important cultural property.According to the inn, there are fewer guests on weekdays than on weekends, so if you're hoping to have a private stay, I recommend staying on weekdays like I did.
