Excellent hotel room, everything looked new and nice location close to shirakawa-go.Huge thanks also to Mr. Ryu Kanazawa, sushi master who introduced us to some exceptional sushi!Speaking English, we were able to discuss with him it was an excellent evening!

Good Guesthouse overall. The manager is really very nice and always makes himself available. The only negative would be the cleanliness of the room floor.

Since there's no open convenience store at night, the owner has chips, drinks and noodles all for 150 yen.What I didn't like is not able to go outside at night because the owner would like to lock the door before he sleeps. No pin codes were given to us whenever you prefer to go for a stroll at night. For all the hostels I've stayed at, usually there's a code given whenever you'll be coming in late.

1. It takes 1.2 kilometers to walk from Shirakawago Bus Center. It is recommended to get off directly at Hatogaya when buying a ticket. Jiugani Station is only 3 to 5 minutes away from the B&B, which is very convenient!2. The B&B has double rooms and bunk beds. The bunk room type is on the first floor, and the double room is on the second floor. The boss will help carry the suitcases upstairs, which is very considerate.3. There are only two public bathrooms and toilets on the first floor.4. There is a simple kitchen where you can cook meals.5. There are instant noodles, snacks, water, and beer available for purchase in the B&B (not many items but convenient).6. On the way from the B&B to Gasshoya, there is a Daily Yamazaki convenience store where you can replenish supplies (it can be reached within ten minutes on foot).7. There are free black tea bags and coffee for drinking.8. The building as a whole appears to be made of wood, and the sound insulation effect needs to be improved.9. There are many sockets in the rooms and public living rooms.

Extremely Overpriced for the room and the facilities. 200 dollars for a very small room turned out to be a fortune.Dustbin in the toilet was not cleaned and, no wash basin in the room. The room itself was very stuffy with no ventilation. No heating in the toilet/bathroom inspite of temperatures being below zero outside. Location was decent.Overall a very non-satisfying experience.

Nice and cozy guest house.Staying at domitory bed shared among other 5 peoples.Bed is clean, coming with towel.Kitchen is available and free to use.Free WIFI.The owner is able to speak english.Recommend!

I booked my parents the private room which was spacious but sheets were dirty , pillow was too soft and found dead roaches. I had the dorm room and since I was sleeping on the bottom bunk bed, I can notice all around the circumference of my bed was piles and balls of dust in the gaps and corners , quite disgusting. I read past reviews after staying there and other guests have complained before about dust but seems like the host hasn't done anything about it.I felt host was so unwelcoming and inattentive when we came up to the main door of the guesthouse. He didn't offer us slippers but did allow us to check in 20 minutes early.My parents are 75+ y/o and we had 3 heavy luggage and the guy was right in front of us sitting at his desk doing nothing (there were no other guests he had to attend to) when I had to carry two big luggages myself up the steep staircase with my Dad carrying another luggage. Even when we left next day he just stood up at his desk and watched us leave as if he was glad another guest is gone .One more thing, although when I asked him questions, he did answer and tried to be helpful but he gave us a bus timetable that was not updated and we waited for the bus that didn't come so we had to walk 1 km to the village.I've stayed in many hostels and first one for my parents but overall this was a bad hostel experience.

Need to wak 1+ km from the bus station (about 15-20 minutes). The staff was kind and polite. They're quite responsive when I asked them questions before I arrived there. They have cup noodles and drinks that you can buy from the pantry if you're hungry without going out to find a store. They gave free tea and coffee. The room and beds are not so bad. Came in autumn. If they can make the room warmer, I'd be amazing. But I slept well, regardless.

This place has been magic for me. I wanted to be with nature and relax after visiting big cities and this was the place. During the evening, Ronnie (an incredible sushi chef) he cooked in front of us and the sushi’s were delicious!! We enjoyed his company during the evening.Everything is very clean and the owner is very helpful if you have questions! I liked it that much, that I stayed another night and cancelled my other plan.

You have to take off your shoes before entering the door. The carpet is dirty but no slippers are provided. There are blood stains on the sheets. The storage cabinets are full of dilapidated cotton wool and countless small bugs. The deprivation of liberty regulations prohibiting entry and exit after 21 o'clock were very doubtful. It's a black shop.
