Guesthouse is located with amazing view.Service by the staff is exceptional.Shuttle service available into the town or just walk to the town while exploring. The amenities are kept clean at all time, including nights.Highly recommended.Just like all the hotels in Japan, rooms can be very very cramped where you only have space for 2 single beds and that’s it.

I didn't stay there but I took a SUP (stand up paddle) tour of Lake Hakusui with them. It was incredible, a cool experience that I recommend 100%. The owner of the hostel (and guide) is wonderful: you can book my activity via Instagram.

Price-performance ratio is not right here at all! We found the rooms to be careless and run down.

Shirakawa-go Inn. A small Guesthouse with thoughtful info on how to operate every utilities features. They don't provide breakfast & dinner, but that was the exact reason I choice there, because I can take picture of the town during the evening golden hour

Very friendly owners. The establishment is very well cared for. It is not in the same town as the houses but it is worth walking.

This little hostel gets high reviews for attention to detail, cleanliness and professional service. Note: This is a hostel and although the rooms are separate, you should not expect the privacy of a hotel. What makes the Shirakawago Inn so special is the attention and professionalism of the owner and staff, who were born and raised in Shirakawago. The Inn is an easy and beautiful 20 minute walk from the bus station. The Inn provides shuttle service to and from the bus stop at 8:30 am and at 5:30 pm (this service is free, just call the Inn to arrange). Upon check in we were kindly greeted and the process was simple and efficient. The entire space is immaculate yet simple. The design of the common space is modern and warm. Although there is no proper kitchen, there is a refrigerator, toaster, microwave, hot water, coffee, tea, brewed coffee in the morning, dish ware and utensils. All the appliances are top-quality and there are instant noodles, snacks and water available for purchase. There is bar seating with a gorgeous, picture-perfect view of the mountains. There is also a large table. The bedrooms are upstairs and there are single and double rooms. Each room has a push-button lock and sliding door. The rooms are equipped with a regular bed, stand and small television. There is a cloths hanger outside each room to hang jackets and any other articles of clothing. I did ask the owner to consider installing hooks or another hanging system inside the room for convenience, and he was receptive. Because the rooms are close together, there can be some noise, but at 10 pm is quiet time and we had a comfortable sleep. The bathrooms and showers are downstairs; keep this in mind if you require late night bathroom trips. Again, all the facilities are very modern and super clean. We really enjoyed our stay at the Shirakawago Inn and appreciated the attention to detail, professionalism and kindness of the owner. I would definitely recommend this hostel. Lastly, there are nice bicycles to rent and other adventures activities offered.
