Used for day trip bathing on Saturday evenings.Although it was early October, it was a rainy and cool to slightly chilly day, and no one was in the bath, so I stretched out my arms and legs in the slightly hot water and enjoyed the luxury.(After bathing, I had to use the fan to cool myself down...If I wasn't in the car, I would have liked to have a cold beer or something.)

It's along the national highway, so I don't need a navigation system ↑ The landlady's phone rang when I was checking in, but when I got back and said that she was currently serving customers, the power was turned off, which is normal, but I thought it was great ↑ The customer after me also checked in. She guided us to the parking lot while assisting us, and as expected from the hostess ↑ The room was clean and had a screen door and balcony, which was great ↑ The private open-air bath also had a washing area, so it was a breeze ↑ Dinner was hearty and full of vegetables ↑ I thought I could finish the whole meal. But...I'm sorry, I left some of it↓However, everything was well seasoned and delicious (^^)For breakfast, the miso soup with nameko, tofu, and fried tofu was warming up in the pot as you can see in the photo, and the refills were piping hot↑The homemade tamagoyaki was sweet. It was delicious ↑ The hostess was very attentive at checkout ↑ I was healed. Thank you for the relaxing solo hot spring trip (^^)

Although the building itself is old, it has been thoroughly renovated and is clean enough. Dishes made with Joshu beef and Joshu pork, as well as handmade dishes made with local ingredients, are both delicious and filling. The private open-air bath had a nice view, and there were deck chairs in the open space, so it was great to relax.

Above all, the variety of dishes was overwhelming. I had heard from reviews that the food was large and would fill you up, but that was true; the portions were so large that you would end up eating way too much. It was a great stay at a reasonable price, and it was different from other buffet-style hotels. The hot springs are colorless and transparent, but they have a faint, unique scent, and even though they are hot, they are smooth and easy to soak in, making it easy to take a long bath. You can rent it out for free for 50 minutes at a time, so it's a secret hot spring that you can soak in slowly. As for the rooms, they are inferior compared to good hotels. As soon as you open the door, you are in the hallway, so you can hear the sounds and voices of people walking in the hallway, but it was well kept and clean. If I evaluate without bias, the biggest disadvantage is that transportation access is somewhat poor. The Joetsu Shinkansen is also infrequent, with only one or two buses departing from Jomo Kogen every hour. There's nothing around the inn, and even though it's a hot spring town, it's quite small, and there aren't many people walking around. Therefore, this ryokan is recommended for people who want to enjoy a hidden secret hot spring in peace and quiet and eat their fill. However, I really liked it. I'll probably go again.
