During Golden Week, I managed to stay overnight with breakfast included. The room was very clean, and the breakfast was served with hot spring water and miso soup with plenty of wild vegetables.

A hot spring inn in a wild landscape. The food is voluminous. The bath has good hot water that flows directly from the source. The rooms are clean and the inside of the building is well appointed.A perfect inn that is a hidden gem. It's comfortable. There is a cat in the building, but it is very cute.

The hot springs are flowing directly from the source and are very warm. You can also feel the proprietress' cooking skills. I have been using Furukawakan for salmon fishing every year, and I would like to use Furukawakan as long as I can fish for salmon.

Furukawakan is my usual place to stay when heading to Niigata. The hot springs are fed directly from the source, but the temperature of the source is as high as 75.1 degrees, so unfortunately you have to dilute it with water before you can enter it (lol). However, everyone, including the proprietress, is very kind, and the food is satisfying, so I think it's a really good inn.
