The handmade feel of the log house was cool, and both the inn and the restaurant next door had a very attractive appearance. The kids said they liked the excitement of being at the base.

Very cool and atmospheric pension. We just had lunch here as part of a group. It's a bit like a European ski chalet, with old skis and memorabilia. Food was great. A stones throw from the base of the ski area. Didn't see the bedrooms.

For lunch, you can enjoy kamameshi, mochi bean paste, etc. The owner(?) of the restaurant is run by the couple. The kamameshi had a strong seasoning, and I felt that the flavor of the ingredients was not fully utilized. The locally produced wild vegetable tempura was delicious.Dinner will be served by a young couple. A plate of European cuisine known as ``Alpine Cuisine'' will be served by a chef who trained in Japan and Switzerland. The exterior of the log house building is unique and stands out. The interior of the left restaurant looks a little dark except for the tables by the window. It is located on the opposite bank of the Tone River from the prefectural road, so it is a very quiet and relaxing environment.

I have to give this the highest rating.Certainly, some people may think that 9,100 yen (current price, 2,000 yen off to commemorate the 50th anniversary, subject to change) is expensive for a pension. However, the building is new (completely renovated in recent years), the staff is very caring, the breakfast is hearty, and the accommodation is impeccable. Looking outside, Okutone Snow Park, which is a 2-minute walk away, luckily had snow near the top, so I was able to enjoy skiing to my heart's content.(I was really happy to receive the kind consideration that I cannot write about here.)What is there to be dissatisfied with?

Another gem in Minakami! Even if you didn’t eat here, it is worth seeing this place, and hearing the story behind its construction, truly a living legend in this town. And you should eat here, because it’s Japanese rural soul food. We’ve only been for lunch, and are very excited about the course menu they serve for dinner soon. We’re local, so have not stayed, but I asked them to show me around the rooms and I’ll definitely consider it for clients or friends.

Used for lunch. It was around 2pm and it was closed, but they opened it for me.I had hotpot, kamameshi, and tempura.Unlike Yamanashi's hoto, the taste was lighter and gentler, and all the dishes were delicious. There are many interesting items on the dinner menu, and I would like to stay there next time.

Used for lunch.I ordered Houto and Gomoku Kamameshi. The hotou was different from the miso-flavored one in Yamanashi Prefecture that contains pumpkin, and although it seems like it uses miso, it was a refreshing soup that didn't have that much of a miso flavor. The ingredients included plenty of wild vegetables. It was delicious.Kamameshi was average. It was a stylish, woody mountain cabin-like place in the pension's dining room.
