A valuable place to stay in Otaru for 4000 yen. The room was clean and had a nice bath and shower. There is also a laundry facility. There are restaurants nearby, but they are far away from the densely populated areas. It's convenient!

Living in this room, actually is almost worse than living in a car! Very noise room. At night, we cant sleep, always heard someone stepping outside, moving luggages. Can you imagine how worse it is? We check in at around 8pm and leave 9am next day morning. the so call guest house is like a haunted house. We have reserved the guest house for 2 nights, however you can't tolerate the horrible situation in guest house. And we live immediately for one night only. The toilet always automatically switch off the light. The hair conditioner is added water inside. The teeth bush is bitter. Horrible experience ever. The air conditioner is not well functional. We have addressed it to the coolest temperature, and it likes no effect of tuning or adjusting the temperature down.If you thought you were just an luggage staying in this guest house without and expectations and feeling, then you could go.

This is the perfect inn to chat with locals when staying in Otaru. The person running the business is a local farmer, so if you talk to him, he will tell you where is the best place to go. There are other guesthouses in Otaru that are attached to taprooms (I work part-time and have no concept of hospitality at all) and above public bathhouses, but this one is the closest to Otaru Station, and the rooms were relaxing. However, it is styled like a vacation rental, so there are many shared spaces, and it is not a hotel unless you tell them what you want to do, so it is not suitable for people who are dissatisfied with having their own private accommodation. Also, if you have large luggage (such as a trunk) and would like to use the elevator, it would be best to consult with them in advance.I was invited to attend a drinking party with the people of Otaru, and it was fun because I didn't get to meet or talk to so many Otaru people unless I had an opportunity like this. Is there an escalator in the room for people who are elderly and have difficulty getting around? It's a unique space, but it's a rented space for business, so it's a bit of a nuisance. I don't know if it's a coincidence that you're not allowed to use the bathtub or if it's always the case, but if that doesn't work, it might be a good idea to take a short walk to a public bath.

Overall, I can't recommend it.Below are my experiences and impressionsIn Hokkaido, do people who are unfriendly and unkind be called friendly?I wasn't expecting much since it was just a private lodging, but there was no explanation given. From the reviews, it seems like there is a kitchen and washing machine.I had a lot of laundry piled up, so I wanted to wash it, but I didn't know about it and couldn't get anyone to tell me about it, so I inquired about a coin laundry and went there.Even if something is wrong, I would like you to let me know.As for the kitchen... well, I'd rather have a boxed lunch or eat out than face the manager with that attitude. There was an unusually sweet smelling air freshener in the room (not just in the room), and even though the room was air conditioned, I slept with the window open.get sickPerhaps the good (or bad) of private lodging is that you can do this according to the manager's preference. Also, is there duct tape on the foot of the door in the room? The exposed stickiness makes me feel uncomfortable every time I step on it.I should heal myself somehow.I turned the shower knob to 55 degrees Celsius, but it was lukewarm, and I haven't tried anything beyond that because the knob was too hard and I thought I'd break it.I didn't use the bathtub because it didn't warm me up and I thought I might catch a cold. For some reason, the lights in the toilet always turn off once. When I try to do so, the light goes out.this is stressThe reception is on the 3rd floor, but the guest rooms are on the 4th floor. Please be careful if you have heavy luggage. For an inn with many shared areas, there was surprisingly little explanation, so I don't recommend it to those who are not used to traveling. On the other hand, people who like overseas backpacker accommodation may feel nostalgic (the slimy shower, the lights that go off, etc.)The only good thing was that there was a garage, although it was an extra charge (or rather, if you couldn't use it, there would be no place to park your bike). If you have transportation, it's better to go somewhere else. You don't have to pay money and experience discomfort.I was really disappointed in this hotel on the last day of my one month trip to Hokkaido.I decided to do my laundry on the ferry and spend the night camping.

I arrived in Otaru at 20:30 and was thinking of running to an inn with a bike garage in Sapporo, but I found out that a 4-person room, 6 minutes from the port, cost 3,500 yen per person + 200 yen for bike parking! And a bargain price. What's more, it's a guesthouse with electric shutters on the 1st floor of the building. The owner's mother is friendly and nice, and the rooms and baths are spacious, clean, and has a large living room. The service was on par with a regular guest house, and I didn't mind the fact that the facilities were a little old and the elevator was small for home use, so I was very grateful! The sushi restaurants around Otaru Canal close at 9pm, so I gave up because I didn't have the time, but they introduced me to a long-established sushi restaurant and it was really delicious.Highly recommended for all riders!

It was my first time at a guesthouse, and I had a private Western-style room. The room was clean and new, and although we arrived at night on a ferry, we were carefully guided and stayed for two consecutive nights. It was a comfortable accommodation that served as the starting point for our trip. The reason I have one less rating is because I want to use this inn as a basis for evaluating the next inn, so I purposely did not give it a perfect score.

The guest house has been restarted under new management. The new host is an elderly woman. The night I stayed there, three people who seemed to be friends of the host came over. The host invited me to a drinking party where we split the bill. I joined in as this is a common occurrence at guesthouses, but this was the beginning of a nightmarish evening. For some reason, I was made to sit in a separate seat, and the host and the other three were having a great time making inside jokes. Food was brought to their seats on large plates, but I only had three small bowls.I was there for about an hour, but no one seemed to care about me, and I was in a state of obscurity. When I couldn't get enough of it, I left the room and went back to my room, only to find it cold. Even when I turn on the heating, it doesn't get warm. When I asked the host, he said they had turned off the heating to save money.I was given an electric blanket instead, but the room remained cold.It was still too early to go to bed, but I wrapped myself in the futon because it would be cold if I didn't.Now that there was no one in the way, loud laughter echoed from the living room. Why do I have to go through this?I've stayed in many hostels, but this was the worst experience.I think the host should be more considerate of the guests. You mentioned that this is your first time in the lodging industry, but are you choosing the wrong person to prioritize when it comes to lodging?Friends, this is not a friend's house but an inn, and if you don't refrain from being aware that there are guests staying there, you will end up interfering with the inn's business.Otherwise, that inn would get a bad reputation for being uncomfortable because there were always people who weren't guests there, drinking with big faces.

I arrived late at night and the light at the entrance was off, so I got a little lost, but I was saved because the host was awake and waiting for me. It was a good stay.

It's close to the station and you can stay there very cheaply, so I recommend it if you just want to stay without meals.
