This is a traditional guesthouse run by an elderly couple. I stayed there at the end of each year in 2014 and 2018.Reservations cannot be made online and must be made by phone. From Yunokami Onsen Station, it takes about 15 minutes on foot (about 30 minutes on snowy roads) or 5 to 10 minutes by taxi. The inn is an old folk house with an irori hearth, renovated rooms and a hot spring bath. Yunokami Onsen has a high source temperature (around 60 degrees Celsius), so the hot spring water will keep you warm from the core even in the cold winter. Taking a leisurely soak in the hot water while looking out the window at the snowy landscape and hearing the occasional distant sound of passing trains was truly relaxing. The room we stayed in was 8 tatami mats long and had a kotatsu. It wasn't very spacious, but it was enough for two adults and a toddler.Dinner and breakfast, centered on local cuisine, are full of volume. In particular, the imoni was served in a hot pot, so I was able to enjoy it to my heart's content, and the white rice from the rice bowl was also very delicious. After the meal, I was able to relax and read a book while drinking local sake by the irori hearth, enjoying to my heart's content the quiet evening of the snowy country. This is an inn that I hope will stay here forever.

I stayed here without meals on a year-end trip with a friend. ||At the inn run by my grandparents, my grandma greeted me in a friendly manner. …

It is within walking distance from the station, there is a parking lot, and although the facilities are old, the rooms are well-cleaned. You can eat sweetfish grilled in the hearth. Dinner was plentiful and satisfying. Breakfast is simple but the rice is delicious.

A guesthouse where you can enjoy exquisite sweetfish that has been grilled over a long period of time. For Ayu, dinner time is fixed.Washrooms and toilets are shared.Still, it's a place worth visiting.Even though the body is plump, you can eat the bones and the head, which shows the true power of the hearth!
