Villa Sacra is a wonderful guesthouse, conveniently located close to the station and lively areas. The host is very kind, speaks English, and even thoughtfully prepared a small birthday gift for us. They also recommended a nearby Japanese home-style restaurant, which was incredibly delicious. The guesthouse beautifully blends traditional aesthetics with modern design. It’s clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. It was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The main issue with this place is the price. It's too expensive by far. The location is good, but that's about it. Also, it's placed next to the train station, so expect to hear trains going around. They lie about room sizes (had 4 of us in a room that would barely fit 3, we had to pile one futon on top of the other to fit them all). The aircon on the room is noisy, and the closet doors get stuck easily. The locks work with a code number... If you miss the code three times, the room will be locked for an hour. Oh, and there is no trash can in the room.Futons are paper thin. We've slept on other paces with futon and tatamis, so we can compare, and these were very poor. There's one bath and two bathrooms for all the 6 rooms. The sinks in the bath also play the part of kitchen sinks, so you can have someone brushing their teeth next to a guest cleaning their dishes. A door to the side will be someone getting a shower, and, to the left, someone doing their business in the bathroom. The tea area is small, to say the least. And don't trust any claims about lockers or luggage area, their instructions are, literally, "just leave it somewhere around the place", and there's a paper clarifying that they will not be held responsible for any missing items. The place had no supervision, with the main door open, when we arrived in the morning, so... Not very secure.WiFi comes and goes, but that's a given in most places. In summary, it's over priced as hell. I have slept in run down places when travelling with a tight budget, but I shouldn't be expected to pay for a hotel and sleep in a round down hostel instead. All accommodations are expensive in Kamakura, but maybe look for a nicer one.

It was my first time staying at a guesthouse, and I liked the pictures on the walls of the room. The staff were also great! It was great because there was a sense of distance and I didn't feel like I was being watched all the time.

Experience it personally! One of the stops on the Grad trip was to take in the beautiful scenery of Kamakura. The star room is so tiny😶‍🌫️ Although the decoration is good, it is very dustyThere are so many styles! ! ! You can see a lot at once! It’s so outrageous🥲 I booked 2 nights and left one day early. If I hadn’t been able to find another hotel on the first day, I wouldn’t have stayed for one night🫡 Although the service attitude of the staff was OK, the soundproofing was terrible🫢The nearby trains and level crossings are noisySummary: The rooms are dusty and dirtyThe decoration is antique but finely tied. The sound insulation is very poor. I don’t recommend it at all🥲btw if no dust, 3.5-4 stars 🙂‍↕️

Had a absolutely wonderful time staying here! Its a very short walk away from Kamakura Station and very close to some major tourist attractions in Kamakura. Komachi street, a very famous food and shopping street, is right next door. The guesthouse itself is very traditional and Japanese, and the room was very artistic and well taken care of. My favorite part was probably the beds, they were very comfortable. The staff were also a huge help, as I was very unfamiliar with the area and they were extremely helpful and kind. Great place to stay if you want to experience staying in a traditional Japanese home for a price that wont destroy your wallet.

For the price, it is an excellent choice. Beds very comfortable. Great shower. Ideal location to enjoy Kamakura. It is a shared space and the walls are thin, so if you are looking for privacy it is not for you. We had a lovely night stay here, and they even made nice decoration & gift for our honeymoon :)
