From the outside, it looked like a small, compact guesthouse located in a local downtown area.A review on Google Maps said that it was run by a friendly elderly couple, and that was actually true.So rather than being at a business-like inn, it felt nostalgic, like visiting my grandma's house. (I never went to my grandma's house though)The room was a Japanese-style room, and to be honest, I can't deny that it looks old, but it was clean and there were no problems.There was also a wide veranda with chairs and a table typical of inns.The futon had been laid out in advance, and since I was tired from walking that day, I took a bath and went to bed right away.The bath was a bathtub similar to those found in ordinary homes, and I locked it inside and rented it out for private use.Bath clean in the bathtub? I was really happy that it contained green bath salts like this.For some reason, the washing machine installed in the bathroom seemed like something I could use freely, so I was grateful for the opportunity to wash my clothes. (Detergent was also provided)

Nice owners. The property is in need of a bit of TLC however. There are stains on walls and floors and bathrooms are far from ideal, given water leakage from pipes and off putting odors. A coat of paint, replacement of carpets and bathroom repairs and deep cleaning would do the place wonders.

If you want to stay in Sukumo, this is the place.The elderly couple's personalities are so nice that I want to go there again.I don't know when I'll be going next, but I'd definitely like to see you again someday.

The owners are such fun, like staying at your parents house. 5-6k short of the next temple on the Henro. A lovely stop.

It was an inn similar to the one used by Tora-san in the movie. The facility is old and has been around for about 50 years. Baths and toilets were shared. The food wasn't luxurious, but it was delicious. The price is 6,500 yen (tax included) with two meals, so I have no complaints. A large bottle of beer costs 600 yen. It's a little far from the station, but there were pubs nearby. There was no convenience store. The good thing about this place is that it is run by an elderly couple, and I felt that they were very hospitable. In that sense, I had a comfortable stay.

10 minutes walk from Higashi-Sukumo Station. There are no convenience stores within walking distance.Although the facilities are aging, the hospitality is excellent.

The pronunciation is "Komeya". The building feels old, but the necessary repairs and cleaning have been done and it was a comfortable stay. It is run by an elderly couple, and the customer service is courteous and welcoming.There are not only pilgrims but also business customers.There is an ashtray in the room, and all rooms seem to allow smoking, but there is no cigarette smell in the room.
