We spent here one night with breakfast and also ordered a dinner. Everything, I mean every little detail of the houses and the environment is of high quality and relaxing. The renovated old house is wonderful! Simply spending time there is quite an experience. The quality of the food is also amazing!

Nauko is the most incredible host. We can honestly say this trip made our honeymoon - her hospitality was so lovely. Although she is very modest she happens to be one of the best chefs in Shikoku (if not also Japan!). Nauko’s breakfasts are amazing, make sure you also book dinner too (and don’t get full on lunch before). The space itself is also completely unique and so thoughtfully constructed. The “traditional” house has so much character, whilst the modern house features a wooden bath and a sun trap seating area. The farm itself is a great place to relax. There are also some nearby waterfalls well worth checking out (“Todono” falls) - we were the only ones there. Worth hiring a car from Kochi (Nauko helped arrange this for us and it didn’t cost much per day). We can’t recommend this place enough - there’s a reason it’s so highly rated! Thank you Nauko

If you seek unique and authentic experiences in Shikoku area, I definitely recommend this fantastic place. All facilities including a comfortable modern accommodation building, traditional Japanese style house and beautiful yard are just for yourself while your stay. Reading a book in a hammock in the yard is the best. It's also pleasurable to walk around the nearby mountains. The owner is such a welcoming and sweet lady. Every single meal she made with fresh game meat and local veggies was absolutely stunning and full of magic. I already miss her food so much.Hope to visit again soon and stay there for longer time!

What a wonderful few days we spent with Naoko at her beautiful house in the countryside outside Kochi. This 3 day stay was an absolute highlight of our 28 day trip around more rural Japan. The spacious apartment is very modern, has a beautiful bathroom with a super wooden bath and has absolutely everything you need for a relaxed stay - soaps, music, snacks etc. We ate at the traditional house across the yard where Naoko (a professional chef/restauranteur in previous life) prepared the most exquisite breakfasts and dinners. This house was also available for us to sleep in and/or relax in if we had wished to. For us this was our best and most varied experience of Japanese food. Equally Naoko cooks in a more Western style - whichever option you choose you are assured it will be fresh, tasty and excellent. Naoko is an excellent host, very friendly and full of advice about "what to do". We enjoyed her company. Nook's Kitchen is the sort of place where youcould take time out, chill and not do a lot. Our advice is to take the time to detour and stay with Naoko for a few days. You won't regret it.

I visited many amazing places during my trip to Japan, but my time with Naoko was definitely the highlight. A much welcomed peaceful escape to the Shikoku countryside away from Japan's busier cities. Naoko's home is both modern and traditional at the same time, and you can tell it was designed and decorated with a lot of thought and love. Even better was her cooking. Meals she seemingly just threw together could pass for Michelin star, and enjoying them in a serene environment with great music to choose from made them that much more enjoyable. It was also great to walk through the small neighborhoods near her home as well as to the temple on the hill about a 10 min walk away. If you're looking for a different, more relaxing side of Japan I highly recommend staying with Naoko and her pup! I will definitely be visiting again.

Wow wow wow! Nook's Kitchen is one of the best stays we have ever had in Japan, even after visiting many different prefectures and staying in all sorts of accommodations from humble to ultra high end. It is the perfect blend of traditional and modern – all the amenities are of high quality, showing so much care and attention to detail. Naoko-san is also the warmest host. She is so generous, is an incredible cook (please make sure you try her dinner), and knows so many hidden spots around the beautiful Monobe river for the utmost relaxation. She also knows all the good places to eat – I followed her advice and everything was amazing. We will be back for sure! Kami is a special place!

OMG! This is the best stay ever! Definitely beyond our expectations. It was in a lovely quiet countryside, with one modern style cabin facing the rice field and mountains, and one old Japanese style house facing the zen garden, and you can access both! The wooden hot tub was amazing ! Must try!If you plan a longer stay like 10 days you will absolutely fall in love with the slow pace of life and never get bored! You can relax in the backyard, have a little nap on the hammock! The owner has a dog, some chicken in the yard and many vegetables and herbs! I think the family with children will also enjoy the stay.Last but not least, the owner is an expert in cooking, especially meat. If you are a meat lover, game meat lover, you will find this place as your heaven. Me and my husband stayed there for 10 days, never having the same food twice. The owner also made our meals based on our likes and dislikes (my husband could eat his favourite Meringato, many times! and me, had a lot of sushi, sashimi and local seafood!). Overall, a memorable countryside culinary stay. Highly recommended.

What an unbelievable stay this was. The area is so charming, the property is stunning, and Naoko-san is so lovely and hospital. There’s so much untouched nature around and tons of nice restaurants and cafes. The location is a great launch point to other places in Kochi prefecture and greater Shikoku including Iya Valley, Shimanto River, Kochi City, etc.We will 100% return to Shikoku next year and the first place we will book will be Nook’s Kitchen. I cannot wait to come back. Thank you for everything Naoko-san!!

If you are game meat lover, this is the place to go! Naoko San, cordon Bleu, will prepare something that you won't forget, with also a large choice of vin nature. The room is fabulous, with a bathroom like an onsen wooden made! The dinning room itself is something, it is a more than 100 year traditional Naoko San family house.
