A gem place and unique experience sleeping at a shrine, at the foot of Mount Haguro walk. The food was extraordinary, cooked with love and soul.

Had a pleasant stay with the lovely family. They were very caring and attentive. I could join the morning prayer. They served very tasty food. There were so many items that we had a tough time finishing the food.Location is two minute walk from the bus stop.

I wanted to talk to the host, so I told him my name and phone number when I made the reservation over the phone, and I made a long trip to the hotel in the heavy rain, but he was not there.I had given up on it this time as there was no chance of a relationship, but since we had made a promise, I thought I should at least make a phone call.I changed it to another day...I will stay again on another occasion. This is an old-fashioned inn.The customer service felt like it was a while back, and was extremely polite. The bath is large enough to accommodate about three people. The toilet is next to the building, so you will need to go outside once. The toilet lever can be removed, so there are some tricks to turning it.Cleaning is thorough throughout.food is very tasty. This is a level where you can stay for cooking purposes.Listening to the morning prayers is very comforting. Please note that accommodation reservations can only be made by phone as per the inn's Facebook page.

Daishobo pilgrim lodge is a custom-built lodge for Yamabushi training, and one of the best locations for it on the Dewa Sanzan. Led by the Merlin-like Master Hoshino, joining Yamabushi training through Daishobo is a life-changing experience that takes you back to a simpler time. Not to mention, the Shojin Ryori ascetic cuisine made at Daishobo is second to none, a must try for those on any form of pilgrimage to the Dewa Sanzan.

The sesame tofu is especially delicious among the hostess's homemade Buddhist cuisine. Above all, it's homey and clean. The master, Sentatsu Hoshino, is the highest-ranking Yamabushi of the Dewa Sanzan Haguro Yamabushi, and has a different aura like a hermit.
